From the outset of his contract, Gus made it very clear that he was to stay at the Panthers until his position was made redundant (job finished). Gus has now completed what he set out to do

Yep. Goulds contribution to Penrith is understated as will be recognised over the next few years without him.

Jeez, if that's job finished I'd love to see what his mandate was for the club. I'm not an insider to the situation at Penrith but he seems to have taken a club on verge of being a powerhouse to a laughing stock being beaten by the likes of the wooden spooners the Knights and Titans.
Under his reign they are spending a fortune to executives and coaches no longer at the club . Actually I heard they're still paying Cleary out on his contract from his previous stint as well as paying him on his current contract. They're spending more money each year and the club's getting worse. He sounds like a genius, the type of bloke our old administrator would have put in charge.
His done more of a job on Penrith than what Ricky did at Parra. Now he's saying "My work here is done" Jeez thanks for coming.
NIgel, when he took over the Panthers were in ruins. They were massively in debt, their salary cap position was diabolical. Gus has done so much behind the scenes to make the Panthers what they are now. Forget about how the NRL team is traveling at the moment, that is a temporary blip, that will sort itself out.
He personally went cap in hand to James Packer, before he was officially employed at the club, to ask for a cheque for $10m to prevent the Panthers Leagues Club from going bankrupt, they were literally days away from filing for financial administration.
He completely reorganized their junior development system.
He cleared out a number of very highly paid players who weren't delivering at the time, freeing up their salary cap to focus on their young players.
He got Ivan Cleary back from the Warriors the first time.
He got their Centre of Excellence built, which the club owns 100% debt free.
He built that roster up to what it is today.
Yes he's made some mistakes, primarily the decision to sack Cleary, not sure what he was thinking there, but no one is perfect.
Bottom line is the Panthers don't exist if not for Gus.
I believe Gus lives at Yowie Bay. If I'm not mistaken, he owns a property formerly owned by a well known Sydney criminal that is no longer with us. Illegal casinos was what this person was well known for.
Sorry to complain, but the new site header is doing my head in. Can someone please remove the background from the Ryles image so the border of his image doesn't crop through Moses left arm? My OCD thanks you.
"Ploppo, you’re spending so much time online I’m starting to think your pension should be paid directly to 1ee . Go play lawn bowls before your keyboard wears out
Old mate spends more time online than teenagers.

Finally Penrith have woken up. Sucked in Gould.

The Panthers should kiss the ground Gus walks on. They might not have been around or not as strong if it wasnt for him.
Don't just look at the football team. Look at everything around that.
Anyway..I don't get these ironic comments for him...He's always said that when Parra are doing well the NRL is doing well.
Lives in the shire .next job Sharks head of football
In saying that hector dont be surprised if we see Gus the next coach at the sharks
