ERIC Grothe has been sounded out to make a guest appearance with popular male strip group Sydney Hotshots.
Grothe's management has been in talks with the company and there is even suggestions the Eels winger could make a shock cameo on stage at Parramatta RSL on March 26 - just hours after the Eels round-threeclash with the Wests Tigers. The April 10 show at Merrylands RSL looksa better chance.
Sydney Hotshots company director Paul Reynolds said he was serious about Grothe coming on board as a guest and a recent poll of more than 1000 people indicated he was the NRL player most clients wanted to see.
"Eric looks the ladies' man and we're keen to get him on board," Reynolds said.
"We're a cabaret show that is fully choreographed, and after a recent fan poll, the 'Guru' was the one who's name kept coming up."
Grothe was aware of the Sydney Hotshots whispers but thought it was only a "gee-up" when we called.
"I guess the old dog has still got it," Grothe said.
"I've never done anything like that before. I would have to see what it's all about before doing anything."
Asked if he could dance, Grothe said: "You should see me on a Saturday night after a few Coronas."
Grothe said the grief he would get from his Parramatta teammates was a big enough reason to ditch the idea.
Eels supremo Paul Osborne said last night: "I doubt 'Guru' will do it because he'll forget. I reckon Fuifui [Moimoi] is a better choice - he's a hit with the grandmothers."
