Just reading the blog about the greatest ever eels side got me thinking.

Who are the greatest injury prone players to ever lace up a boot?

I think Dugan would be high up on that list.

But to me, the Mr Glass Award has to go to Brett Papworth who played for the chooks. I think it was 3 knee recons in 3 years or something like that.

Can you guys remember any other guys made of glass past or present?

  • Brett Papworth also broke his jaw. I think he played like 3 games in 3 seasons. He should have stayed in Union.

His wife (a really nice woman) used to be my English teacher.

Loko would also have to be up there.

    • Yeah Loko is a good one.

Papworth Lol. That guy should've got a role in Unbreakable alongside Bruce Willis!

  • David Woods
    • Good one. If I remember correctly he had serious shoulder problems.

  • Loko

  • Kaysa
    • Fark yeah forgot about him.

Seems the Eels have them all.

  • Yeah. Poor guy couldn't get a break. No pun intended.

I think I saw EVERY game he played at the Rooters with my mates. They collectively stood up nervously whenever Paps got up slowly from a tackle.

    • Hahaha.

I wonder how many minutes the Roosters got out of him?

Probably less than we got out of Mossop and they had him for 3 years.

      • Put it his way. He was probably the highest paid athlete on the planet if calculated on minutes played.
