It was a great victory to Eels tonight and I'll admit I got it wrong.
I really thought the Raiders would win comfortably but I was proven wrong.
Good coaching by Brad Arthur.
In saying that I did notice something and this is not a criticism of Jake Arthur as he did reasonably well when he came on except for 1 dumb kick. I noticed however when Moses went off with the HIA and Jake came on I personally felt extremely nervous and I noticed a very clear drop in intensity and the Eels went down at least 3 gears. I also noticed the Raiders lift and begin to gain confidence.
I was on the 1eyedeels chat and some were saying, me included that they hope Moses comes back on asap and as soon as Moses returned the Eels intensity lifted again. It was also the same when Makatoa came on. I thought if Moses didn't come back the Raiders could have made it harder. I don't know if Brad Arthur was thinking about the Panthers game when Moses went off but Im not sure if having Jake and Makatoa on the bench for next week's preliminary final will be a great idea. There were 2 commentators Voss and Flannagan who suggested that Moses shouldn't have come back on and that if the Eels could finish the game without Moses and not win then they shouldn't be playing the Cowboys next week. Cronk also said that Brad Arthur should have rested Moses for the rest of the game. The other thing I noticed was that Wighton is a dirty Grub of a player and Klein is a terrible referee.

I hear you. When Moses was off our intensity dropped. Not only that, we also looked disorganised. But we won, let's just enjoy it!
Exactly. In what case would a replacement half lift the side???
all the stupid nrl shows having long segments on our bench about why he's got a back up half on the bench.
that's why!!!
well done BA.
Not saying a replacement utility player should lift the side but he should keep it at least even until the end of the game or until the player returns. There shouldn't be an obvious drop in momentum or intensity
I am enjoying the great win EAM
Calvin Klein is the worst referee going around ATM.
100% agree
If anyone on this planet besides the coach' see's that JA is a first grader at this point in his career I'm afraid has zero clue about the game. I never thought i would see the day where it would be so blatantly obvious he is picking someone just out of spite & to try to prove people wrong. He's carrying 16 players every week & it might work by some fluke , but he's hindering any chance we have of breaking this drought by only having 3 on the bench. Again I couldn't believe what I was seeing everytime JA touched the ball. I'm sorry but there is def nepotism ot some sort towards his son on that footy field & it's as evident as shit everytime he picks JA.
Moses is our highest paid and best player who plays in the most important position for the team.
If he goes off you're going to notice it. Same as the Panthers without Cleary. Organisation drops, attacking structures drop, and there's going to be a lack of overall direction.
Not to the same extent Captain.
True...very true.
