Bennett said in the media after the Eels lost to the Knights that the Eels were believing their own publicity or words to that affect. What does he say about himself and his crew now? They have been promoting the idea that the competition is done and dusted, with them the winners of course! I have asserted on here many times That there is no such thing as a great coach. Bennett, like several other coaches, gets over 1million dollars for what he dishes up as a coach . After last night I know what will be trumps with him and his scurvy crew from know to the end of the season. We won last night with a team near full with reserve graders, with a penalty count of 10 to 2 by one authority, with the referees not seeing the Brisbane dirt. Semi was sensational. Norman had his best game of the year and showed what a good captain he is The Eels missed several trys that could have gone our way--lord knows what the score would have been! Many positives to come out of the game--David Gower one of my favourites did well again in I st grade. And now for next week--don`t let it slip Eels.

Watching last night in the build up to the start of the game it was hard to tell who the Broncos were playing because the media only seemed to talk about them. However just before kick off all the eggspurts did go on to mention the Eels, but that was just to say we would get a cricket score put on us. Turns out the Broncos did score a lot of points, just not enough to win. Nothing better than watching the Eels ripping those cheating grubs to bits.

The full back is a reserve grader, as is
Frank Pritchard,as is the winger who scored the first try, as is David Gower, as is the front rower V--- some thing or other! And I would include the hooker who has play most of his games this year in reserve grade. That is six out of thirteen or close enough to 50%--I may have missed another. That is part of the reason we leaked some late trys -- but it was a great effort by all including those that I have named as reserve graders.
Loved Bennett pre-game, basically say after the last time that beat us, we went back and had a good hard look at ourselves and we're a very different football team now and I don't expect us to produce that kind of performance again. ie Basically given Parra no credit. Well, at least he was right. They didn't reproduce that performance, they were worse. And a lot of teams just happen to play "below expectations" against us, which is what happens when you play a team that is always at you, with sustained intensity.
