Watching the games over the weekend has shown that the video refs have lost all confidence. Some of the calls are simply diabolical and the confusion and lack of confidence starts from the top. Crichton's was one of the worst tackles of the year. Shoulder charge direct to head and should have been a straight send. Worse the match review committee grades it as one week when it was high and forceful and should have been graded reckless. Watching the Melbourne game at least 3 decisions have been blatantly wrong but called tries. The game is simple but he is trying to create interpretations rather than the video ref and ref just calling the obvious. I have been watching the game for nearly 60 years but have never seen it as bad as this.

As Annesley is an ex Liberal candidate he will have political connections inside the NSW parliament. He has a job for however long he wants it.
How was that try awarded to Faalogo for the storm? All the players went back to restart play because it had gone dead, and they gave it a try.
The only people who thought it wasn't touching the dead ball line was the on field referee and the bunker. There was even a small segment of white paint that the ball had taken off the dead ball line.
Yep, absolutely stunning piece of incompetence.
Whoever was responsible for that needs to be made an example off.
There was no need to do anything controversial there. Merely call it a no try and move on. But they tie themselves up in knots and try to convince themselves that maybe a portion of the ball touched the grass before the line etc. Just unnecessary. No try and play on. Keep it simple.
Exact point keeps it simply e,g a decoy runner takes out a defensive player I couldn't care less if it is inside shoulder outside shoulder or clipping the legs if they take out the player then it is a penalty. The no field goal last week where no player was obstructed was also wrong but as usual he supported it. If a ref makes a bad call say so so both that ref and all the other refs know it was wrong and no what to call next time. Also raving on about how good the process was when making a call is pointless when the call is wrong.

The game has been rigged for years but it's gone from bad to worse It clearly appears the NRL allow certain teams calls to favour them to get them into higher ladder positions and finals appearances. There was no way the Eels should have lost to Penrith recently except for blatant ref and bunker calls or that the Tigers should have beaten Manly with having 3 Manly players sent to the bin. It's disgraceful and in my opinion blatantly illegal
