    • Like or don't like, this pops blog is correct us all parra supporters are all suffering and with it comes uncertainty , distrust and disagreement, what 2018 has bought for us is unfortunately is what it is, i for one visit this site to get any whiff of a possible new signing or something of a rumour for our club , regardless of any rebuilding process , investing or inquiry all it will take to turn our club around is a string of wins in a row come 2019 until then a good preseason is vital for parramatta
    • Like you Pops I have read with interest and agreement the various threads from Sixties on this issue, and I totally agree with him and the sentiments expressed.

As an eels supporter for a few years now, I have watched the progression/regression of many aspects of RL especially since the SL war. How many young teams and 2nd division clubs/teams have gone by the wayside, also from being able to watch 3 grades of football with your team in each, was awesome. Today our feeder teams play miles away and at different times or days, and even conflict with the NRL team playing at ANZ while the feeder and Flegg teams play at Ringrose, one before or just after lunch and the other mid/late afternoon.

RL is dying and several blogs here have highlighted the issue as well. Time that eels supporters, and RL supporters really got behind what is being talked about on the TCT site in regard to this issue.

    • Pops and I rarely see eye to eye, and have digs at each other from time to time, but for once, I completely agree.

  • I agree with 60's 100% on us breaking ties with Wenty, you want Parra kids wearing the blue and gold not black and white.

Plus he makes a very good point our best young talent being stuck with Park football plodders, what is Brown going to learn off someone like Taumata??? How to get sacked from 6 clubs????  But this arrangement saves the club money so I'm sure Max will make sure it stays.

      • Who knows Poppa after this season from hell maybe Max knows he will have to change and loosen the purse strings, because blind Freddie can see the club was understaffed in the football department and him, the board and the CEO didn't give the club every chance to be successful.  As I have been saying it's not all BA' fault, but that shouldn't get BA off the hook for the horrible recruitment and our even worse horrible tactics and style of football.

        • I think the football review may force his hand. I hope the club makes the findings available to members. That way we can make an informed decision when it comes to voting.

        • Alan, perhaps BA was basically stuck in an old style game of poker with Max and the amount of money available, and that is BA copped a bad hand and had to play with what was dealt him.  Like you I did not like a lot in this season, also the playing style had me miffed big time, yet I am more miffed at how some players have basically not turned up, but what better options were available to the coach in player selection?

This review for me is the best thing that can come out of a lousy season, the 3 new players so far for next year will help, but certainly reading the jnr player reports on TCT gives some confidence heading into 2019 and I do not believe we have a mortgage on the spoon either. I hope I am not wrong though.

  • A lot of very good points. It reminds of how I think that there should be a reserve grade comp that is played before the first grade. The development of players for all clubs would be far superior, in turn making the NRL stronger.

I have always thought how crap it must be for NRL quality players, both established and the newcomers, to have to play in the NSW Cup at a suburban ground, and not even in your team colours.

Having a reserve grade comp would also give the fans more reason to go watch games as well. How good did it used to be having three games on match day?

  • Good to see the pupil free day was put to good use .
