While we lost I think it's important to call out some important players who had a shit game.
Negatives
- Penisini is getting stood up to regularly. He had a horrible first half in every aspect
- Paulo showed why he was dropped from origin. It was a poor performance from him again.
- Hands missed many tackles. Not sure if it was because of the injury. Do we give Yates a go on the bench ? Maybe 80min of nrl finals catching up to him
- Matto offered nothing in attack and defended like he was in the backrow rather than 5/8. But nothing to worry about since it's just temporary spot for him. Club need to fix their depth up. Get Sanders ready.
- Davey he tries a lot but still misses tackles ane drop the ball
- Lumelume was shit but he won't be there next week. Club really need to sort out their outside back depth as he can't be our back up.
- Joe O crap in defence and crap carries. His attitude was shit as he was seen giving up on plays so early. Reggie's he needs to go till he fixes his attitude and form.
Positives
- Simmo had a great game in attack and defence.
- Asi tries his best
- Moretti is really going hard and should get more minutes. He has a ball of energy. I want to see him keeo his spot over Joe O.
- Russel tried hard
- Hopgood tried hard
- Lane tried hard though made a couple errors. Stupid trip buddy.

Penisini is good in attack but is an average defender.

Russell barely cuts it as a winger.

Simmo has been a revelation at centre.
Sivo needs to visit the Wizard of Oz and ask for a heart and some balls.
All and all that was a piss poor effort from a team that showed no steel or heart.
Agree , The only real rep quality game that Paulo has played this year was when Greig was showing him up and Paulo thought he'd lose his Origin jersey. Grieg was a far superior player to Paulo in the games he played pre injury.
I agree Wiz. Wiremu was really starting to figure himself out. Shit timing for us and him. I am hopeful that his foot will start behaving itself, and alllow him to get back at it, pronto...but, an injured foot can really fucking suck for your footwork.... can you imagine the stress of being small damaged bones( now attached plates), right down there at the bottom beneath an epic pile of human, when he seeks some serious drive from you or tries to apply a bit of foowork.
In most cases it may heal good as gold, but Wiremu's milage my vary.
I think Moses helps Penisini in attack which helps his confidence in defence when he is having good game with the ball. Also Moses rarely gets beaten on outside. Penisini would have been aware Matto doesn't have lateral movement of Moses so was worried about Matto missing his man which then puts pressure on him as he thinking about covering Matto so hesitating before preparing for his own 1 on 1 tackles.
I wish Sivo had Lumelume effort. At least Lumelume looked for work and ran hard instead of sivo's walking up to defence turning back then holding neck hoping for a penalty.

I thought Joe O had a pretty fair game, reading between the lines I think the author has already made up his mind, Russell was OK at fullback, he could not defend some of those holes that appeared everytime the Warriors (who are a pretty good side) turned it back in, exposing the halves and no cover defence at all. Your point about Penisini was spot on, BEM for your interest I have seen Jennings exposed like that in various slaughters from time to time and he was an outstanding defensive player, particularly when he matured.
Paulo should not have come off, BA did a Fitler with him.
This game will teach us a lot and also provide "wakey wakey" time for those poor souls who think players like Asi deserve to stay when our stars come back...throw in a fit Lane and you have a different structure.
Think about it, add Moses, Brown, Gutherson and RCG to that side last night.......do you think we may have won. I have no doubt and Warriors are looking a top 4 side.
Finally I was impressed with our "want" to fight to keep the 50 at bay. Our enthusian and effort was ok, execution in defence poor. Result is you lose by 40, remember us doing that to Dolphins and the Dogs, Dolphins come back and nearly knock off the Broncs and Dogs knock off Souths.....imagine our reaction last night if dogs beat us like that.
Finally you idiots that think all the other teams are shit have no respect for the game, the players and the intelligence of your own genuine supporters.
FM I thought that Will had his worst game of the season. But in fairness to him he had no confidence in either Matto or Lumelume. I think he was caught out over thinking the situation.
Morretti was one of the Eels better players in a poor performance based on what we have delivered recently. I would like to see BA find a spot on the bench for him to cover both Hands and the forwards.
I don't know that any team losing their entire Spine like the Eels did would have beaten the Warriors.
Warriors aren't a knock over team, said that from the start of the year they will be up there.
We simply had to many quality players out, never backed us to win this game. Not sure why Ethan sanders I think his name is didn't get a run.
penisini simply missed Moses in defence, can't believe I said that but Moses has become a great defender.
Russel is well off fullback, Simonson should of got a run at fb.
Hopgood was gassed after the first 20 minutes, big loss when he went off and changed the game.
Sanders is not even playing reserves yet and anyway is out for under 19 SOO
