GOAL KICKING OPTIONS?

Is it just me, or is our goal kicking this year starting to be a real problem? Sandow is in great form with the ball, but is there another option for goalkicker? Corey Norman or Joseph Paulo? Granted, quite a few of our tries are out wide due to guys like Semi and Sio racking up the tries, but there have still been plenty of easy misses this year. We lost against Wests after kicking 1/4 (despite scoring more tries) and only just held out the Cowboys recently despite being the much better side, again the goalkicking kept them in touch. And 1/5 this weekend against the Bulldogs, surely this needs to be looked at, before it seriously hurts us in trying to make the finals or even (hopefully!) during a finals match! Any thoughts here?

  • Did you all see Haynes freakish drop goal from the side?? Freddie said he did it 4 times out of 5 on the sunday footy show. WHY DOESNT HE KICK? seems to be freaky!

  • Haha yes saw that, doesn't get more freaky than that :) Could they really put more pressure on the guy though!? Our best player, spearhead etc and also has goalkicking responsibilities!

    • Thurston does the same Glen.

    • Andrew Johns! Organised the team, ran the ball, kicked in general play. Sound familiar?
  • Yes it has already hurt us and will continue to hurt us if nothing is done.

Paulo, Norman, Sio are all average.

Sandow should be our best but has been very poor this year.

I think Hayne was supposed to do the kicking against the Tigers but injured his ankle at the start of the game so didn't kick.

  • Anyone no why sandow stopped kicking
  • Yes, but being a Queenslander Thurston also has two heads.

  • I GO WITH HAYEN

  • LOL im sure if u said this was gonna be our big problem at the start of the year many of us wouldve been jumping in joy
  • I think if Hayne is doing it well at training he should be given the role. I wouldn't have said it last year/year before because it's not smart to give every single responsibility to one player to carry the team but he's really come on as a leader and more importantly everyone else is doing their jobs so it wouldn't be that much more of a task.

EA replied to Offside's discussion Samrani vs Penisini
"I think the disappointing part for Pensini was the poor defence last week against Melbourne. Yes everyone was shit. But he missed a one on one tackle for Leo to score. He also got burned in the frist half by Leo but Iongi saved the day."

Yehez replied to Offside's discussion Samrani vs Penisini
"Penisini ended last year well and he can be a good attacking threat. I won't want Penisini away from the team yet.
But the competition is good and Samrani is doing well. I'd still give Will first crack when he's back from injury. "
