Glass is half full

1. We fought back in the second half and were not beaten by 50

2. Early losses will motivate BA to make necessary changes rather than keeping status quo

What changes should be made?

1. Stop playing injured players such as Tepai - we lost anyway, let the kid get better and Sandow - could have given Matterson a look at FG (yeah he isn't ready but having a look may help him develop) - and he does not look like he will stuff up badly - just may not contribute much in attack but so what at the moment.

2. Hopoate back to centre and RR to FB? Could then bring in Morgan, Crooks or Lavaka to wing.

3. Start with Wicks and Gower, Lussick to bench and Tepai bench or rest until better.

Note - all three games we have had much less than 50% of the ball. This must change. Get the offenders off and start with players that will just do the basics well at the start. We do not need pizzaz at the start. Just no mistakes and penalties. Depressing seeing all that good hard work done by blokes like Ma'u, Gower and Wicks come to nothing.

  • actually the glass is always full, it just is sometimes mostly just air.

  • Tepai and Sandow both offered nothing, clearly injured. Spot on about Wicks, Lussick and Gower, 3 players who at least had a go
  • Cause your a better coach the ba. Clearly you have no idea or didn't watch last weeks game moving hoppa is stupid, last week rr let a bomb bounce leading to a try, you clearly don't want that from any player let alone your fb. Hoppa has good hands and willingly puts his body on the line
    • Just questioning if Hoppa is better as FB or centre. He is doing a solid job as FB and has lots of metres. But would you rate him as one of the top FB? or would you rate him as one of the best centres?

Seemed you agreed with me LP on Tuesday when you posted "Reece Robison to fullback, hoppa to centre and toutai and Morgan to the wings" but now you say I am stupid for saying the same. Obviously takes one to know one and you have a very short memory

    • Hoppa has always been a better fb then centre through juniors. I rate him neither in the top centres or fullbacks of the game. Although since his nrl return he has never been the same player. But minimising errors at the back is a vital concern and for that reason he needs to stay fb
    • I will agree that since hoppa returned he has looked better at centre then fb. although 3 games is hardly a good sample size and he performances have solid. Unfortunately at this point in time we don't have a feasible fb replacement
  • Good point about keeping Hoppa at #1 so not to have a weakness at FB.

However, he did show a hint of something special at centre before getting injured in SOO last year. I can't see him showing that at FB.
