Glass half full or half empty?

Top 7 reasons to look forward to 2019:7. 2019 can’t be any worse than coming stone motherless in 2018!6. We have money left to spend under the cap and come November 1 we will announce at least 3 major signings that will vastly improve our top 17 ... please, surely5. ANZ is dead - we will have a brand new stadium to call home, an awesome intimidating amphitheater that will allow the blue and gold army to inspire the team4. There is no World Cup ruining pre-season allowing our fitness staff to keep the Polynesian boys on the straight and narrow (and away from all you can eat buffets)3. We have completed “the review” and BA will have more help around him including a GM of Football.2. BA is a good coach and the players respect him - he has dealt with crisis after crisis and built the club from rubble to top 4 last year. Everyone has one bad season in them - it is an aberration1. We have recruited well and addressed two major weaknesses. The first is we have remedied small wingers that offer no help to our forwards. We have added the Dally M winger and that bloke from Penrith that is bigger than Semi and just as fast. We have added size to our forwards welcoming home Junior (and he has a pass too!) and Shaun LaneTop 7 reasons NOT to look forward to 2019:7. We were bloody awful in 2018 - what has changed to make us think anything will be different in 2019?6. We have no more money to spend under the cap - we are paying Norman $900k for crying out loud - and no one wants to come to a place with more wooden spoons than the Master Chef kitchen5. By the time we get to the new stadium, it will be round 7 and our season could be over.4. We will learn in the November sand hill run races that BA’s son not only beat Jarryd Hayne, but lapped him. Bernie Gurr also beats home half our back line3. Mark O’Neill and BA get on like water and oil and all “the review” does is add a couple more million to our financial loss2. BA is past it. 2018 showed he has run out of ideas and he has spent too long at the club. In 2018 we had no variation in game plans and our defence got worse and our attack was non existent1. We have recruited poorly. We have added 4 blokes to our squad but fired or let go about 12. My Grandma might have to suit up just to fill a roster spot. Our best recruit is turning up with a broken leg. We haven’t added enough size up front and we have two dominant halves that don’t gel together. We have no on field leadership to inspire and drive the team.Which are you - glass half full or half empty?

  • Meh - the we can't get any worse attitude lol. That's typical unicorn failure mentality thinking. It's like saying we should celebrate 15th in 2019.

I'm sure if we were to jump a couple of positions in 2019 the unicorns will be pushing for a ba extension
  • I think we come 15 to 14 place we need more front row forwards to inprove

For me want BA to stay we have to come 9 place or make the top 8 any thing less bye bye BA

So I'm a glass half empty

  • I reckon the glass is very much half empty.

Watching the GF last night and indeed the semi final series as a whole did nothing more than ruthlessly ram home the fact that a MASSIVE gulf exists between us and the competitive teams in the competition.

Unlike other wooden spoon seasons I saw zero positives come out of this season. How we went from top 4 to easily the worst team in the competition in the space of about 5 minutes still baffles me.

Based on who we have signed and how the club has reacted to the season, I see no reason whatsoever to expect any sort of improvement next year.

I think we will be red hot favorites to go back-to-back - for the wooden spoon.

Hope i'm wrong and there's a miracle over the horizon - because that is what it's gonna take - a fecking miracle.

  • I’m a glass totally empty kind of guy.

How anyone can even be half empty or half full type is a mystery to me.

This club has managed to serve up 14 spoons to its fans since its inception in 1947 and what has the club learnt from this - F ALL.

They constantly make the same mistakes, therefore I still have ZERO confidence that anything at all will change regarding the delivery of a competitive side capable of challenging for the premiership.

Massive changes are needed and not only in the playing department. The coach should’ve gone last year by round 13 but here we are about to enter yet another preseason with zero glimmer of hope for 2019, when in fact Parra should be entering 2019 with the most to look forward to, considering we will have the envy of all Sydney clubs to call home. Simply not good enough and those that accept that are really poor fans IMO.

Absolutely shattered Parra fan here and tbh quite sick of this crap club.

"Well the premiership drought is a start, many want them to stay that way to have a joke to tell. I hate Wests yet many feel sorry for them. Many wont feel for us.
I have said this before, but when Parra made 2022 GF one mate said to me "I hope they…"
