Get Lasalo signed and sealed

I'd really like to see Parramatta follow through on all the talk of retaining our best young talent and start making some announcements about who we're retaining.

Let's start with Taniela Lasalo - who again was outstanding tonight. Taniela has been one of our best all year in my view in only his first real year at NRL level and assuming he's not asking for ridiculous money, he should be locked up before other clubs start sniffing around after him.

And do likewise with Paddy O'Hanlon and Rory Brien.

  • well on the presser after tonights game, kearney said that offers have been made to all the players they are intent on keeping with amounts that they deem are worth of the respective players value
  • Agree Lasalo is a must, sign on the dotted lines Taniela!
  • One thing noticeable in the Sharks game was Lasalo defending a bit closer in to the ruck and attacking a bit wider of the ruck. For instance, at one point in the second half Lasalo lined up on the line at 5/8 and McGuire outside him at centre. McGuire was also getting the ball to Lasalo on McG's outside rather than turning Lasalo inside all the time (like Morts was doing).

    So just saying Lasalo looks promising, especially as he and SK learn the best ways to utilize him in both attack and defense. That said, he does go missing a bit on the field sometimes, so hopefully he can work on maintaining greater involvement.
  • He was definitely solid tonight, that's for sure, and he can only get better.
    Mind you, he seems to be constantly getting better every week, and he is definitely a player that should be re-signed.
  • He is worthy of being resigned, no doubt and no argument from me.
    However he still needs to develop and grow as a player, as I found he started the season well then he dropped off a bit.
    But last night our backrow fired whereas they had not been of late.

    How good was Ben Smith too. If he is fit and injury free he is captain material IMO.
  • Can someone please listed the back row options for Parra and the year their signed up until as well. I keep hearing about those U20's blokes and trying to see where they fit in the scheme of things;

    Hindy end of 2013?

    Smith

    Horo end of 2014?

    Lasalo

    Reni end of 2013?

    Shack end of 2012?

    O'Hanlon

    Brien

  • Smith is starting to develop into a hard hitting hole running backrower. Lasalo has been great all year and is really starting to step up.
  • Thanks for the link, so we have the following;

    Hindmarsh end of 2012

    Smith end of 2012

    Horo end of 2013

    Lasalo this year

    Reni end of 2012

    Shack end of 2012

    O'Hanlon not in top 25

    Brien not in top 25

  • I thought it was great to see Lasalo and Horo playing wide last night..Now we need more offloads from our forwards and we will be right...In a few weeks time i can see keating starting at Hooker with Reni coming off the bench which will add so much more versatility to the side. I thought Hindy was his usual brilliant self again...Now its just time for consistancy

"It was apparently a cork, that is all. Could be cover without actually having a specialist on the bench. Maybe can move Samrani too with Papali'i filling in at the back.
We have more versatility with Papali'i on bench compared to Hands or Lussick if…"

"I think he will be on bench, maybe Wing but doubt it. Get him on the field around 50th minute with a tired Manly pack, who are big. Walker is a Utility, but also he can be seen as a middle. 3 forwards and Papali'i is still a steady bench, that is…"
