Geoff Gerard says we need constitutional reform

Current Parramatta board director and former player Geoff Gerard appeared on Triple M's Deadset Legends this morning to answer questions regarding the salary cap.

He spoke across a wide range of issues with his most notable points being:

- We need constitutional reform and we need it now.

- We need to sign Brad Arthur to a long-term deal now.

- He questioned both Spagnolo and Sharp in board meetings regarding salary cap issues.

- Gerard will cop it sweet if he is not re-elected.

- "We have to put our factional fighting in the past. It's been six or seven years of this and it has to stop. We will be a powerhouse so long as everyone gets on and looks at supporting their club, not themselves."

I was very impressed with Gerard's interview and in my opinion he should be the interim chairman until we can sort this mess out. He said, currently an interim chairman won't be installed until Sharp and co. have responded to their breach notice. Finally someone on the board gets that we need constitutional reform and that we need to bury the hatchet in order for our club to have a fighting chance at silverware.

  • Parra need constitutional reform. Thanks GG, don't think anyone else has mentioned this. In other breaking news, apparently the Earth is not flat.
  • Too late jethro... I want a clean slate, and i will vote u out instantly...!!! Our 2016 is gone!! Thanks board for Two spoons , and no comps !!!
    • Wrong board regarding the two spoons mate.
  • I heard most of the interview and was impressed with Geoff even though before hand I thought he was a fitzy stooge, he pretty much put that to bed when he declared that fitzy had his time and needs to move on. I also got the impression that it was either him and or others on the current board were the ones that dobbed us in and while on the surface that seems like a terrible thing to do, if it was for the good of the club and not self interest than I can accept and live with that.
  • Frankie,
    Do you like anyone?
    • Frank loves he's dentist, Frankie uses the same dentist as Steve Sharp, i bet hes even has the same dentist tools in their mouths.

  • Yeah fair enough points Frankie, as I was listening to his interview and thinking how impressed I was with what he was saying a part of me was saying to myself, " hold on this is how we were fooled in the past and he does seem to be pushing all the blame on to others plus remember what you were saying about not wanting any former players on the board an. How you wanted all the current board gone." So yes when it comes to a vote I will be looking for better qualified people than Geoff
  • Im tipping Geoff will be the new chairman, Geoffs a top bloke, every time ive met him ive come away thinking what a warm and nice bloke he is, he is the pick of the bunch that is left BUT the rest of the current board needs to go for a clean slate, they wont be elected next elections and are counter constructive now.

Lets hope they stay right away from Bevan Paul and give Bevan the power so he can do he's job without being interfeared with.

    • Agree Snake. Geoff will do a fine job and hopefully allow Bevan to do his job.
The others, well they need to step down now.
    • geoff may have been on boards but theve all been playing in house and keeping secrets factionally ,the big 5 have been lying to everyone inc other board members ,shit theve been lying to BA ,prior to them spags was captain and crew with bently ,i knoow verything getrard said in his statement are true ,im backing you up on this snake ,this guy is a straight shooter

"Damn it HKF, I was gonna ask where did Didly Squat come from to look them up.
Next you'll say Hock isn't coming."

"I am not too disheartened by that. If we got him then great but he is 29, having a few injuries and though a really good Winger he is an average Centre. I would rather Murray Taulagi."
