Hi guys, just thought I would ask your opinions regarding the new/amended rules governing releasing the ball carrier & the subsequent play the ball.
I was expecting the release process to have been cleaner & quicker but my impression on the games played so far, even though its still early days, is that it still appears messy. Players still seem to be lingering in the tackles, & not releasing & rolling away from the tackled player. I can't see any real improvement.

TBH, I don't find much of a difference from seasons past.
As I understand it, players are required to get off the tackled player simultaneously. A bit hard to do if players are stacked on one another.
I think the release at the play-the-ball has sped up quite noticeably; however the refs are still inconsistent in awarding ruck penalties.
In saying that, I do believe that the game is too fast, and the expectations demanded of players are beginning to get ridiculous.
