Game was lost in the middle

We did not dent their middle at all. None of the middle forwards made close to 10m per run.

Without go forward down the middle it is hard to blame pathetic game management or coaching as not much would work. No set move, no changing back line is going to work until we push them back in the middle. Parra game management did seem like a problem gambler upping the risks every time he loses.

Moeroa is not a Prop. He made a lot of metres but off a lot of runs. He may be able to defend in the middle but he does not run like a prop. He is an edge forward.

We are down a lot of middle forwards, whuch is a concern. The problem last night was that we weren't getting the offloads. There was no way through the Melbourne defence - we had to go through them

Agree but also not helped by the effectiveness of Melbourne’s wrestle, we always were on our back and slow play the balls where as we struggled to turn them on their back, heck we even struggled to turn smith let alone their props. Then we stopped offloading and went for the easy option side to side which they ate comfortably

  It is a good point that regarding the lack of mention regarding our injuries going into the game. I just don't think many journalists actually understand how the game works. But saying that, would having mannah and Alvaro really have changed the result? Sadly I think that's a huge NO.
