Game Review

A pretty poor performance all round from parra. They looked like they picked up where they left off last week where they were Lucky to get the win over Tigers.

Hopefully they turn this around next week but I have my doubts based on past history.

Fergo- had an off night and thought he could sneak a penalty by putting his arm over the side line. Complete brain snap.

D brown had climpses of brilliance taking on the line but more times than not he ended up just hitting the defensive line and being tackled.

Moses- seemed to rushed with miracle passes at times. But overall wasn't too bad.

Forward pack- aside from a few they were pretty disappointing. Go forward was slow and they showed not urgency to get quick play the balls.

All in all they never really built any momentum and on the few occasions they did they ended up making an error. Mind you the dragons had some very lucky calls. Ie. Mahoney strip, forward pass for duftys try, strip on Fergo.

My one gripe with the game overall was we still got caught out with our edge defence. If sivo can't be taught to stay on his wing he should not be out there.

  • Quite an accurate review in my opinion, I do hope we turn it around next week as that will show us how resilient our team is. Big game against a Raiders team at home looking for a bounce back.

    • You can't seriously be happy with that performance against the Tiger. There were periods where they played well but they faded during periods of the game in typical parra fashion. I can't say I came away from that game to confident.

      • Yes Josh, but they were not lucky.... Wests were lucky we didn't put 50 on them. No I wasn't happy with the performance against Wests.....BUT THEY WERE NOT LUCKY

        • They were extremely lucky. Look at the dragons game.

          • How do you figure we were lucky against the Tigers? If anything the Tigers were lucky that we clocked off and gave them a sniff - if we'd played the full 80 minutes we would have flogged them. We still won comfortably in the end. That wasn't luck.

  • Cartwright was poor. I tried to warn some of you about him during the week but was met with a 'I trust BA'. Well there are some real whingers on here and if Cartwright still loses those moments week in week out you'll be on here bleating about how bad he is very soon.

    • I thought he was OK. He'll have the odd howler, but the guy can play.

      • I was there which can mean that you see the game differently and don't get the detail you get on the tele.

I'll say that in the stands the general consensus was that he was absolute shit. He needed hard running up the middle - a power game - he crabbed and threw away possession.

        • He is not that type of player Kram and he most definately was not absolute shit. I didn't think much of his recruitment, but he did OK.

          • He doesn't have to be "that type of player" Poppa. But he has to be able to adjust to circumstance and requirement. Last night we needed him to take the ball forward, run straight. Based on what BA said at the presser I have no doubt that was the instruction. All he did was encourage Saints already far superior line speed.

If he's not capable of running straight he "most definately" should not be coming off our bench - not unless we are going to win every game by 40 and throw him on when we're already 30 up.

"Yep I think he will take over from Walker in 27 as our starting 13, has the characteristics of a leader and could end up a vice Captain by then too."

"Actually EA Ryley while playing Flegg for the panthers played in the halfs as well as hooker at various times . So if push came to shove my humble opinion is the kid would do a great job job where ever if needed . He is just a real goer"
