Gallens Tackle

Junior Paulo has been put on report. If he is charged he could be outed for two or three weeks. Those games we would almost certainly lose. Therefore it is imperative the the Eels fight any charge laid against Paulo. Unfortunately, the record of the administration in fighting such charges is very poor indeed. This despite the fact that the club has a duty of care towards all players including Paulo. I suggest that the administration alert a QC on Monday morning so that that QC can prepare a case for Junior Paulo. And a good case can be made. The Manly player was not hurt. He did not leave the field he played on. Paulo did throw him but released him before he reached the ground. That is, Paulo did not drive Ballen into the ground.

Compare Gallen`s tackle on Kyle Turner in the All Stars match some weeks ago. Turner was laid out and had to leave the field. Gallen was put on report but no charges were laid against him. Turner has not returned to football and is now facing a neck operation which will mean three months minimum out of the game and may mean twelve months out of the game. Gallen is free to play by not being charged. Why should Paulo be charge when Gallen was not and when Gallen`s victim may not be seen for another twelve months? Some people on this site think that a heavenly light shines from our Chairman. Let`s see if he responds to his Duty Of Care and supports Paulo and fight any charges laid against him . Given the Gallen precedent,Paulo should not be charged.

  • Jnr had two very similar incidents last season.
Although it was certainly an accident and there was definitely no intent, the judiciary would place it in the careless category and with his carryover points there's no way he'll get off scott free.

Looking more like a Danny Wicks debut against the Dawgs.
  • Agreed. Absolutely nothing in it, no intent,no driving heads into the turf,no damage. Common sense must prevail. Oh hang on hes got previous and he plays for parra, one week with a guilty plee.'guilty of what sir?' NEXT!
  • Yes I hope we fight the charge there was absolutely no intent.

Hate those ridiculous carry over points

The way he played we are gonna sorely miss him as I'm sure the Bulldogs Guardian Angel will step up to the plate Robert!

    • You mean "guarding angle"....
  • He be fine he get out of that

and On a Different matter does anybody know how we went in the Harold Matthews cup and SG Ball

  • Won matts and lost so ball, I thnk . It's in today's Tele
    • What? In English,mate.

  • I thought nothing was in ither tackle tbh

  • M. Jnr being out doesn't mean we will loose thoes games. He man handled ballin. It was show of strength and looked worse than it was.
  • It was a nothing tackle but nothing surprises me when Parra is involved with the NRL.

"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
