Front Row Replacement 2011

I cannot believe our Board and retention people's decision to chase Carl Webb.

They knew nearly 12mths ago about Cayless's retirement, they have had ample time to find a replacement. Because we have buggered around all this time, all that is left is Webb???

Front row is a vital position, these guys lay the platform for the backs... These are the guys that intimidate other teams. Yet we have chased an out of form and below fitness standard player that can't get a position in the team running dead set last in the comp.

Let's think for a minute, if Webb was a valuable asset to a team, then numerous clubs would be vying for him. He had 1 decent season at the Bronco's. They cut him due to training issues and not a team person.

Hell he couldnt even win his bodgy fight.

He brings nothing to our club, he is not the kinda player to wear his heart on his sleeve. He is not the player to stand up and lead from the front.... What is his use.

If he signs, should fit him out in a Wenty jersey, cos thats what he will wear most of 2011.

He is no more than ESL standard.

Thats my say.....

  • I would rather use Shackleton as a prop...he should use this off season to bulk up a bit more, because I think he has that 2nd rower/prop body at the moment, where he is big enough enough to play prop but agile enough to be a 2nd rower...
  • yeah he definitely has the ability to have a massive impact coming off the bench next season. I reckon Fui and Poorey will the starting props, with Mannah and Shacks in the prop rotation like we have used this season...So Mannah on for Fui and Shacks on for Poorey...
  • I agree, So whats the use of Webb????
    • none, unless Ando plans to use Shacks in the 2nd row with Hindy and Benny Smith, with Mitchell, Horo, Mannah and Webb on the bench
  • Too bad we couldn't poach Russell Packer from the Warriors. He is a machine!
  • What about Pele? How about giving him a decent go in the top grade. Surely playing someone already on the roster has to be better than wasting money on a washed up has been!!!
  • Would have preferred us to chase him (Johnny Mannah) instead of Webb....
  • When has Carl Webb shown any potential in the last couple of years. I'll be devastated if we actually spend money on him, I almost hate him as much as Justin hodges.
  • Carl Webb's best days are well and truely behind him, he has had his day in the sun and his forecast is set to cloudy!
