EELS legend Ray Price has lashed out at Parramatta board aspirants John Kolc and Steve Sharp - claiming his former teammates are "making fools of themselves".

The Daily Telegraph yesterday revealed Kolc and Sharp would run as independents at the football club board elections this month to help rescue a club they say is infested with "vendettas, factions, self-destruction and divisions".

Yesterday, in a controversial move, Kolc and Sharp listed five candidates they sought to work alongside on the board - Eric Grothe Sr, Nathan Cayless, Geoff Gerard, Sid Kelly and Dr Michael Johnson.

But incumbent director Price was left out.

Price came out firing, predicting members would not vote Kolc and Sharp on to the board.

"I don't particularly care what they say - but they should at least get their facts right," Price said.

"If they're trying to make a fool of themselves, they're going about it the right way.

"We've got the club going in the right direction. They [members] wouldn't be stupid enough to get rid of us.

"You can't build a city in a year or two. We have done what we said we would. Is it our fault Parramatta went shithouse this year?"

Kolc and Sharp sent a letter to the club's 600 members asking for "construction, not destruction" and to "unify our great club".

"We have had enough divisions,"they wrote. "We have had enough leaks. Professionalism, not personalities."

Yeah, i know the general thoughts that may come out here such as "Pricey is just shooting his mouth off again", yadda, yadda, yadda. But while I will NOT venture an opinion to start this blog, I just want to place just a little more info on the table for your consideration

- John Kolc is a club legend, a grand finalist, former international and long time club man.
- Steve Sharp like Kolc, is a Parramatta legend and well respected
- Kolc was sacked  by the new board via investigations into club management, in which Kolc
basically Kolc was found out to be handling some suspect business dealings and very involved with the whole sordid "Tinga Palace" affair. I won't go into the details, but please read the link.
- Ask why would Steve Sharp align himself with John Kolc?
- Ray Price, like him or not, may run his mouth, and has got a LOT of people off side with his comments, but he bleeds blue and gold.

Anyhoo .... I thought I would start this blog to see what sort of debate and thoughts there are about this latest septu involving our beloved Parramatta Eels

Cheers,

  • LOL i dunno ,i dnt pretend to know the ins and outs of the club. To get updated with all the interclub politics would take too long and i frankly find it all exahusting anyway.
SO whether my opinion is wrong or not i have to go with my sentimental side. I can't see myself voting against Cayless.
Whichever side Caylo sides with i am going with him. Maybe thats wrong I dunno.
  • I'm the same, it's hard to analyse the situation and take sides. I know this much - Pricey is a legend and the only Parra player in the last decade of coming even close to playing the game hard like Price is Nathan Hindmarsh. Maybe Cayless too.
  • Ray is just the 1st bloke they ring for a quote, brett kenny is the 2nd and both have foot in mouth diease.
  • The constant in-fighting is not helping anything....Maybe they should ALL learn when it's appropriate to speak out and when it isn't....You know that little thing called "common sense".....
    • I think Ray might have got the common sense knocked out of him over the years of playing.
      • I have met Ray on many occasions through a mutual friend....At times he may seem a little forward but he does love the club and he does want the best for the club.....Hopefully this will make him feel motivated to do the right thing for the club....
  • to those on one eyed eel look at my attachments, its funny stuff, more funny then voting for crap on the board,,have a laugh its better..
  • thats funny man ha ha
  • I think alot of people have forgotten that Kolc was part of the Fitzgerald regime now regarless if the 3p ticket was run out of personal vendettas or what, the fact if a majority of members wanted Fitzy out!

Now is 1 year long enough to judge the credentials of 3P? i think not! this latest Rebel ticket is a blatant attack by a disposed former player and employee of the club in Kolc I find it interesting to note that Kolc does not mention anything related to the financial situation the club is in now compared to when Fitzy was in charge!!

What has 3 p achieved in the past year? well Financial stability to me is paramount for the clubs ultimate survival, whilst the team has not had a great deal of success on the field I can sleep much better at night knowing that clown Fitzgerald is not in charge anymore!!!

Dont forget Fitzy stated he could not assure Parra's future in 3 - 5 years! so if all 3P and the new admin has done is get the books balanced they have at least fixed one problem!!!!
  • One reason for the 'financial stability' is that its now $75 to be a football club member when it used to be $20. value for money? Don't make me laugh - the football club has NOTHING to do with running the nrl club! Why put up the membership?

Oh and dont forget the real estate carefully acquired over the years - all sold!

Stop your pathetic scaremongering Eeldorado and tell me what 'credentials' ray price has for being a director apart from 'bleeding blue and gold'?

Also - what happened to the other 'loyal' 3P activist Brett kenny? Did not even last the distance on the board.
