  I definitely think French would make a good half, from the moment i saw him its the first thing i thought, this guy should be in the halves im just not sure hes ready for it at this stage of his career but it can be done, look at lockyer all be it he was a solid defender for a half..

    Thinking the same, he's not ready. If you throw him in now, he'll become rocks and diamonds like Shaun Johnston.

  Possibly down the track i think beven strength is in his running game particularly support play and broken play i think this will make him better suited to fullback at this point pf his career

  Defence is Gutherdon's best asset and French's worst. This means we would prefer Gutherson attempting 20 tackles per game than French. As for the fullback needing to be good because he's the last line of defence, it's true, but for a position that only attempts a couple of tackles per game it's still less important. How often do fullbacks save tries from a tackle? A couple of times a season? Most often the attacker draws the fullback and passes. Anyway French is okay at tackling the legs, which he can do at fullback. Up in the line you need to wrap up the ball. Gutherson is great at this.

  I've been saying this for some time, Baron but the usual pundits jump up and down with the predictable, "French can't defend well enough for the halves" etc.
  I still maintain that with a bit more work on his defence, he would kill it at half. He needs the ball in his hands more than at fullback. He is a talent and has a killer passing game.
  Gutho is a fullback...end of story.

    I agree Gutherson is a fullback (or centre) but French is not suited to the halves. His strength is his running game. That means he needs space, and he won't get that in the halves.

  No.... Bev is not a 6 he is a 1! As for Gutho I told people on here 6months ago he isn't a five-eight everyone told me I was silly now after the 9's everyone is like ohh he isn't a ball player blah blah blah..... mate I told everyone that 6months ago, Clint is DREADFUL, Shit kicking game, no balls skills.

    Loving the use of 18 minutes in a 9's format without your dominant halves partner is the best evidence you guys can put forward.
