Well done Frenchy. Your decision making and technique in defence tonight was very good and we saw you at fullback for a little while. I would prefer he stays on the wing at this point in time as he needs a bit more weight with his kick returns. As Gutherson is more of a ball player he may be the better fullback long term, although if Semi is stuck outside Jennings again I'd serious consider trialling Semi at fullback.

If French put on 5kg in the off season and didn't negatively affect his speed then maybe, but not at his current weight.
He is a very special talent. Not many fans said he couldn't make it. The concerns was with his defence and kick returns at fullback. His defence in previous games had been poor to very poor in patches but tonight his decision making was near perfect. He still struggles with his kick returns but this will improve next year. I still prefer him on the wing outside Taka. With the modern day compressed defence he will always be dangerous on the wing and I would leave him there.
French's kicking ability and know how suits the halves?
This bloke needs to be involved. He needs to be in the halves.
