If you aren't a fan of the show, fast forward to the 18th minute mark. Freddy and Joey both looked very uncomfortable talking about the eels coaching job. Smirking at each other. Freddy says not he won't be coaching at Parra but would be a club he would want to coach at (figure that one out). Then says he wasn't spoken to anyone about a coaching role (perhaps would be interested if approached?).
Both make some very sensible comments on our poor defensive systems which makes you wonder if Joeys opinion on this has ever been raised at training before.

Yea Joey talks about the compressed defence. When you have that, your outside mean cannot come up and in or slide approaching the opponents. Have to slide and retreat
Doesn't Joey help coach the Eels? He makes it sound so easy. - talk to defence coach you nong.
Well defence comes down to BA
And David Kidwell
Defence is kidwells job . But BA is the head Honcho.so its his head on the block . Theres somthing crook in Talarook .times up and BIG changes needed
totally agree. i dont care if your pissing on kidwells toes. fix the shit!!!
Freddy: "they didn't know what they were doing" (in defence).
Clearly throwing the coaching under the bus
So no Bennett, no Bellamy, no Robinson, no Fittler. The shortlist is getting short.
Flanagan is the only logical choice now Adam
Mind I would have support to the English coach, at least he would know a couple of fast wingers and even a strike centre in the ESL. Don't tell me there are not some good ones around. I say this with respect because it is obvious we cannot manufacture or purchase one in Oz.
The other thing is reading his track record he would be smarter than most of our coaches....his name is Shaun Wane by the way and he would kill to coach in the NRL. Have a look at his track record if you want to be impresssed by a resume.
It's looking that way Pop, I said early on in the new coach discussions that we wouldn't get a top tier coach but one that has a point to prove - Flanagan has a point to prove.
