Megan Barnard has just reported that the eels will learn their fate within the next 10 days.

According to her, reports coming out of the NRL is that we will be deducted 10-12 points, a hefty fine but the points deduction will be reduced if the entire board including Steve Sharp stand down.

Time will tell.

  • If they love the club as much as me they need to resign, club first.

    • I agree Browny, but it appears that we will be victims by trial by media.

If what she has reported does play out "reports coming out of the NRL" need to be investigated who is leaking this information.

The penalty and conditions will change daily in the media over the course of the next 10 days no doubt.

All we can do is wait with fingers crossed.

  • I heard this today from a friend who's got a family member within the NRL but still don't want to believe it.
  • Couple of sources reporting the same, see one of the other threads here.

will wait and see but if true the board must re-sign or be kicked out in the next election

  • It's a no brainer if true. if this board loves the club they stand down. Tomorrow.

    • They should only stand down when the NRL conclude their investigation.
      Here's why.
Firstly, to resign before the investigation concludes potentially removes one key bargaining chip. If the board is already gone, how could you negotiate a reduced penalty.
Secondly, to resign now is admission of guilt about every rumour. Let them be guilty of the things that they have done wrong.
Remember, our end game needs to be a skilled, professional board and an end to factionalism.
I'd hope that the NRL's end game is the same.
  • true

    been reported before

but the reports have been somewhat consistent so it could mean they re true we'll see soon

  • Could we lose ZERO if they step down? I'd take that. Hell, I would show them the door.

    • No chance of zero point loss. We are losing points

  • Yeah, like she knows!!!

"I did modern day as 1998 onwards as I didn't see them play, as some here haven't. Where I believe majority of people here have seen all the modern day players play.
Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
