Who do you think BA will pick for the starting six?

Who will make up the bench?

My picks are are:

Prop Mannah

Hkr   IDG - Never lets the team down but not very creative. Would prefer King if can tackle.

Prop Brown - Hard to pick this position. Matagi is too similar to Mannah and Vave is usually not a starting prop. Think BA will use F Pritchard as a wide forward.

SRow Ma'u

Lock Scott

SRow Moeroa

Reserves

Vave

Matagi

Edwards - also be backup hooker 10-15mins when has break.

F Pritchard

If BA goes with this configuration our team has the potential to bust the game open in the second 20 mins of the first half. Introducing two big bodies with skill and Matagi who runs hard up against the opponents second string forwards makes for a mouth watering prospect.

  • prop Mannah

    Hooker King

prop Alvaro (both props good defenders and workers to whether the storm so to speak)

    2nd row Mau

    2nd row Scott

    lock Brown

bench Edwards, Matagi, F. Pritchard and Moeroa

    • Not a crazy proposition as Brown wore the 13 jersey many times last year
    • Second row and lock for brown, I agree.
  • Frank is looking fit

Vave is looking like he is trying to maximise momentum
  • I reckon BA would start with Vave as we need some size to start the game in the middle and have Brown off the bench like he did so successfully for Souths. I like your idea of Edwards giving IDG a break if he can master dummy half? Kenny is a footballer though and has shown his versatility playing in the halves last year. That way K. Pritchard can play for Wenty and put plenty of pressure on IDG to come with his best game every week. Kaysa is also too injury prone and hasn't been able to produce a full season since juniors. And King is a reserve grader in any position in my opinion.

  • I think Alvaro has to be in the mix . He is a machine .
  • I think people are too quick to overlook Terepo. He made a very healthy amount of tackles and only missed 13 in 23 games. That is the least amount of missed tackles from all our forwards, including Mannah, who only played 14 games. He made fewer errors in 2016 and his running game was still damaging. Maybe he could start with Mannah? He is a good contrast to Mannah. I would then have Vave, F Pritchard, Brown and Takka on the bench (with Ava'a or Hoffman to plug the centre role.
