A lot of fans online are pinning yesterday’s loss on Twidle on social media. He didn’t play well, sure, but he wasn’t the reason we lost — our forward pack was. As it stands, it’s the softest pack in the competition, and it might be the weakest the Eels have fielded in the club’s history (Hopgood and Doorey don't change this statement).
Fans hated hearing Brad Arthur harp on about “winning the collision,” but there was a reason he kept saying it. One middle signing and the extension of Paulo isn’t going to cut it against the middles we’ll be facing next year.
Looks like it’s shaping up to be another long season for the Eels in 2027...

God really? Twidle is the punching bag? Take out the last say 15mins, he wasn't that bad.
Just not good enough through most of the team, simple as that.
Agree with that summary....immature performances by players that hopefully learn not run out of line.....Kautoga comes immediately to mind and Twible doesn't really matter at this point.

Whist Twidle had a night to forget, I thought our centres and wingers got showed up last night, especially Russell and JAC. Russell doesn't have the skill to be an elite centre and JAC was always out of position. Opposition were clearly at another level.
Just shows Perth offering Russell 4 years and reported $650k is desperation. He will do a job and add experience but yeah.
Have to agree with you 💯. I would like to see lokene get a bench spot next week. See how he goes. Looks like the most athletic forward coming through. Ryda seems more alpha. Koina still needs to develop.

I am more worried about our forward pack as well Kautoga goes missing after 20 minutes.

JFI is dont know what the plan is with him.... Plays at second row in cup for past 2 years plays in the middle last night.. The coaches need to turn him into Liam Martin strong powerful and with some speed..

When the starting forwards went off we looked pretty lost in the middle. That did improve when Junior came back on. Injuries will do that, and we are searching through lower ranks to field an NRL squad. These guys will learn, and hopefully be better for the experience.
Well our players in nsw cup our missing plenty of tackles too. JDB and Smith made a horrible miss together. Then plenty of misses by others.
Simmo has returned well in the first half.
In JF no idea why Sorovi only debut this game. He was great. Took an intercept and ran the field to save and then score a try. Made 2 great ball and all tackles against bigger men. Was great in yardage too. Only 18. On the other wing, I am not sure how that bloke is in the team. Was not good. Have to play Rokusuka there over him.
