Fortress Parramatta

If I had to pick one single positive aspect from this year so far, it's the fact that Parramatta has strung together two hard-fought, gutsy wins at Parramatta Stadium.

I'm sure all ticket holders got to the point where they were not just sick of the Eels getting beaten on home soil, but also the fact that we seemed to perform worse at home than we did away.

However, with back-to-back wins, I think the side has an opportunity to re-establish their home ground as a fortress.

So let's do our part, by getting out to the ground tonight and making as much noise as possible. I know The Swarm will be trying to lift the roof in a game that I personally feel is going to define our year.

  • Sounds good.
More support for the players, the better!

Definitely have to make Parramatta Stadium a fortress though, I agree.
  • i have to agree here.

id say without question, parramatta have performed better at home this year, than last year.

  • hmmm our home ground record hardly warrants us calling it a fortress -

how many wins on our home ground in the last year and a half??????

granted, we have had 2 wins this year, but they were hardly comprehensive or 'fortressy'

  • Nothing wrong with being ambitious. There's that old footy proverb that WINNING solves all problems. And when a team like Parramatta has shown no consistency for over THREE seasons now - except for the 9 week golden run in 2009 ~ like it or lump it - apart from those 9 weeks - Parra have been nothing more than a below average football team. Until Kearney gets Parra winning on a regular basis - like Brian Smith was able to - the Fortress we would all like to believe can only be built when winning becomes a consistency , not the anomoly that it is , and has been for the past three seasons. Remember Parra were second last on the ladder and the season seemed lost except of course for those magical 9 weeks

For mine , a fortress would be nice - right now I am more concerned with Parras STYLE of play. The sooner Kearney and the boys gel sometime in 2012 with Sandow and co the better
  • Fortress?!? FFS, General Custer had more luck at the Alamo.

Remember that if Matt Orford didn't f*ck up THAT scrum against the Titans, we'd now be last. Wait a sec, let's dress it up and call it sweet 16th. Ace!

  • its some thing one eyed better than nothing
  • Decent crowd tonight considering Sharks fans don't travel.
  • What was the number slip?
  • Don't know, but it looked 10,000 +
  • It worked against Cronulla. Cronulla beat St George = we can make this work on Friday night :)
