  Why does the club need to keep us continually updated on contract negotiations. I'm pretty sure they'll let us know once they've got it sorted.

    1. Because 'the club' absolutely stuffed it up for everyone, including US fans.

    2. Foran will no doubt go down as one of our best signings in a very long time and he was the most sort after signing in the league, not just ANY contract negotiation.

    3. It's a 'members' club I believe, not privatised....yet. We deserve a reasonable update or explanation and after this club stuffing this whole Foran signing up, deluxe, surely they can at least give an update on progression or what is happening.

    4. We've heard nothing from the club for almost a week.

    Not asking too much is it?

  +1, Super. I much prefer they have all the ducks counted, and update when all is done. To me, the call for "news all the time" is symptomatic of the problems the board is probably trying to fix, of a pressure to be too visible in a context of unproductive factionalism. If that makes sense?

    From a PR point of view, you don't want this Foran thing to remain topic of the week. You let it drift into the subconscious and then release the news. That effect is two-fold.
    1. You have a good news story.
    2. You've avoided media saturation.
    I'm pretty sure everyone bar the media was fed up with hearing about Foran about two days after the story broke. If you continue releasing information, when you do announce the deal everyone kind of rolls their eyes and it doesn't receive the coverage the club wants.
