Foran Likely to Return against the storm

Kieran Foran is highly unlikely to play in Parramatta's next NRL clash against South Sydney on Friday, but his return from time out due to personal issues will probably come the week after against Melbourne. The Eels return to football for the first time against Souths, since the NRL handed down their provisional sanctions on Tuesday for allegedly rorting the salary cap.Foran has been given leave from the Eels since late last month, just prior to their Round 9 win over Canterbury. The New Zealand international was not at Eels training at their north Parramatta base on Sunday.According to reports Foran has continued to work on his fitness, while undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation clinic in Brisbane. It was initially suggested the premiership-winning pivot would return in time for Friday's Pirtek Stadium clash. However that is not expected be the case.A Round 12 return against the Storm at Pirtek Stadium on Monday, May 23 is the more probable scenario."We are just giving him some space at the moment," Eels club captain Tim Mannah said on Sunday. If the Eels can get under the cap by the time they meet Souths, they will need to win 11 of their last 15 matches to qualify for the NRL's final series. It was a feat they achieved in 2009 in their surge to the grand final."We can't get caught up in that big picture and get too worried about winning 12 from 15," Mannah said"If we do that we will lose focus on the job at hand."

  • I hope so that would mean we play only one game without him. BTW the storm game is round 11 not 12.
  • Why are the 12 points being mentioned. I thought we were in court?
    • Can't wait to see foz in newie on may 30 !!!!!
    • I don't think any final decision will be made on the punishments until June & besides, we are in court fighting the sanctions anyway. A lot can change from now until June. I've also noticed on the NRL site, that we are on 12 points - not 0.
    • I am glad you said chin Carlo
  • SECURITY !!

  • Stop it !!! I will yell at him quietly lol whilst I wipe the drool from my chin :-) nothing to worry bout foz
  • There is very little chance that the NRL will vary the points we have lost so far. Even if it is determined we are cap compliant this year the NRL will still argue that illegal payment made in previous years played a part in assembling this years team
    • I agree, there is next to no chance of them returning any points, just accept what it is and move on.

"Lets see what excuse he comes up with why he can't play against the Storms in Round 1, apart from just not being picked in the 17"

"If you are going to do that better off just keeping him in Cup as a break glass option. Unless he is that much of a cancer and that negative to the squad that he needs to go."

"He's fine, just feel we should get a younger Winger. Many saying he's a goal kicker, ummm Moses is too and is pretty much the same in percentage. "
