Foran investigation

What is happening with regard to the betting scandal? Awfully quiet atm. Makes me wonder if Foran has taken a break until the penalties are handed down.

  • Last I heard its still with the police and I guess depending on how deep this goes, the investigation could take a while.

  • If penalties are handed down that means there is findings of guilt

He hasn't even been charged yet

However if found charged by police or breached by NRL and found guilty he won't be standing down. He will be in gaol and banned for life from the game
  • If it is with The Police (the 5-0, not the band) it will be very quiet, probably for months - even a year - but all of a sudden, if anything has been uncovered and they have evidence, all hell will break loose.

Like when you see a high profile criminal case on the news - the crime is reported, it all goes quiet for months on end, the perp thinks they are in the clear, then an arrest is made and a court case announced for a few months later.

    • Kram I see that and agree. I just wonder with all of the leaks with Foran's betting spree when he was in rehab, as to the leaks....someone has leaked things of convenience at some point. So it would not be hard to see if any players has gained advantage from games whether spot betting etc.

I still recall the images of M Waugh and S Warne when they gave info to "John" the bookmaker in Pakistan....that was suspect to say the least.

  • Don't think he be in hurry to join desy at dogs
  • The following players who were also linked have left or are currently  'injured' from the nrl:

    Brett Stewart

    Glenn Stewart

    Steve Matai

    Anthony Watmough

    And of course Foran

    • Can we start a LOL@Manly blog yet (like the one the Silvertails.net has on their forum about us)?

  • Lot of comments that Foran and BAs relationship has been strained. Does anyone have any information on this?
  • Yeah true, but the cops will be crossing all the t's and dotting all the i's - getting all the evidence they can and putting it all together, making sure they have a strong case, and covering all bases. This can take ages.

IF Foran or anyone else is guilty they will know exactly what's coming - whether it's next week or next year - that would be a horrible position to be in - especially if you're not a career criminal and just some idiot who has got themselves into something way too deep . . . . . that would majorly f**k with your head - might even cause someone to have a few mental issues ;)

    • Maybe one of the players will end up rolling over on the big guns behind it, in lieu of a lesser sentence, maybe they already have
