Foran Interview transcript (9 News)

Initially it sounds good but it doesn't by the end. Rough transcript with a few KEY points:Weidler: Foran is supposed to lead the Eels in the season opener, but a hamstring injury has him in SERIOUS doubt (Danny playing it up as usual)Foran: I had a slight, SLIGHT strain maybe on Sunday, we're not too sure if it was a strain or whether it is scar tissue, obviously I've been prone to hamstring injuries over the years and there is a lot of scar tissue in my left hamstring so it could be that.Weidler: Have you run on the injured hamstring?Forn: Yeah I ran on it today, probably around the 75-80% mark and got through that okay.Weidler: What's your gut feeling about playing this week?Foran: Yeah, again, I am OPTIMISTIC, I'm holding SOME hope that I will get through captain's run and I will be right to take the field, it would mean the world to me to be out there with the guys for this first game, especially after a long, hard pre-season, like I said I WON'T PLAY unless I'm 100%.*End*Doesn't sound too positive to me. Very very frustrating that he has again hurt it, whether scar tissue or not, this is Hayne 2012-13 esque when he had the knee injury and the scar tissue problems as well. Would be a huge let down if he didn't play, an even bigger one if he did and got injured. But we have worked on it all pre-season and it still isn't 100% right as he hurt it on Sunday. That hammy is going to be such a worry on a weekly basis for us this year.

  • Wont play. Y risk it. Cornish will play.
  • Me either. BA won't risk him rightly or wrongly and he didn't sound that good about it. When a player is 'hopeful' that's never good news. Guess the season starts Saturday week then

  • I think it's pretty ORDINARY that all off season we try and work on it and can't even get him out there for Rd1. Let's hope it is scar tissue but honestly, all that stuff we heard about "strengthening the hamstring" etc and he gets through 60mins of one trial game, then gets injured again at training the week after...

  • Shite happens flucking win anyway. Deal with it and find a way to get the chocolates.
  • Mmmmm...in theory having months of rehab and rest on it you'd think would be almost as good as it gets. This has put a bit of a dampener on things :((( ....nah maybe we're foxing!
  • Our strength and conditioning team musn't be much chop. They knew Foran had hamstring issues, devised a plan to strengthen it all off season and then he tweaks it the week before the game. That's not good management.

That, or Parra just loves busted players with an injury history; Watmough, Champion, Mossop, Tonga

  • This sounds very contradictory, sounds like games to me, it's seems to be the new way.
  • Oh foz you can do it !!!!!
  • Seriously!?!?

"Pure speculation. And really, it should be 'NO DEAL' until they come to the party with a player WE WANT + a compensation payment. Presumably, Moses has them over a barrel, so that should be the only acceptable outcome."
