Foran - Fact vs Speculation - Eels Blogs

This site has gone into melt down. So much information and misinformation to deal with. I know some facts and it caused my sombre disposition yesterday. There are also facts that I don't know as yet. So let's try to sort through this.Facts.1. The Foran contract has been a monumental balls up. Someone offered Foran something that should not have been offered.2. The saga is being played out in the media, with many fingers being pointed.3. Our club is rightly being questioned over the way we conduct business.Speculation1. The motivations of DA - feuds and power struggles2. The depth of awareness of the contract details.3. The clauses in question - look at the varying media reports.Where we are at:I know that things could be much better. Even if we get Foran across the line, this has not been a positive exercise. It has created a lack of faith that needs to be repaired, within the club and with the fans.On a personal note, I am not going to point fingers at anyone, but I will expect answers to the core question as to how this has been able to happen. I expect the truth and I will know if it's not. I have never been a rumour monger on this site and I'm not about to start. I do not engage in misinformation. I won't ever walk away from the jersey that's in my DNA but my support of the club deserves an explanation.

Sometimes a nights sleep and some time to think helps. Actually that always helps !!

Unless these clauses were put into the contract after the board had signed off on the contract, in a secretive almost fraudulent way, the board and the chairman is culpable.

I voted for them and I support them but we need to know how our club can be run so poorly.

It is beyond belief that the club can spend almost $5m without the board being shown the detail. Would you accept that?? I can't believe that happened. They must have been briefed on the detail. Foran is our biggest signing in the last 30 years. If you were in charge wouldn't you want to know the detail and make sure the agreement was solid, water tight and capable of acceptance by both parties?

The membership deserve the truth 60's that's for sure. If it costs people their jobs so be it. They have proven they don't deserve our trust. It's time they started to earn it back via full disclosure.

Like I said before, I know everyone is itching for answers, but right now there are so many rumours and speculation. No point in commenting until we get an outcome. As fans, there is nothing we can do about. Just keep fingers crossed and hope the outcome is in our favour.

Sixties , The board saw the contracts and did nothing about it. They are incompetent and out of there depth.
Ando is causing everyone grief he is poison.
You wonder why we have cap problems oh but its the previous boards fault yes they are to blame for everything just like Seward hmm.

There are more problems but we can't upset all the Sharp fans.
NRL needs to clean Parra out.

I don't operate on speculation, only facts. Most of yesterday's social media became speculation. The fact is that this has been a messy process and it should not have been. The why deserves investigation.
