I don't think we can get 10 minutes out of him right now... Maybe 5 minutes each half max right now considering he's got loads to improve on his fitness. If he gets his fitness level up he will be soooo devastating. Ando probably told Pele to work on his fitness that's why he's training with the Eels now.
'We've spoken to the entire 17, and I'm speaking to the boys that aren't in first grade at the moment,'' Anderson said. ''I went and saw them [the club's NSW Cup team] play on Sunday, and I've told them the areas in which they can keep improving and pressuring first grade. We need that competitiveness for our first-grade spots.''
Have you seen him play?
He didn't really show anything special in the trials. He looks big but there was nothing special when he hit the line. Brendon Oake looked to be making more of an impact with his hitups.
Obviously he has potential. I'm looking forward to the day when he is playing first grade and hitting the line hard.
How do you reckon a player like Glen Lazarus would go in the modern game ? He was 120kg and would play the full 80 minutes of football back in his day. Of course the games got alot faster since then, but it's still an awesome show of ticker.
Admittedly I only saw Lazarus towards the end of his career but whilst he was an 80min player his work rate was only high for about 10-15mins per half, then he would lose venom in attack and defense
still a great, and a benchmark for forwards, but I think the speed of the game today would ave hampered his game. He definately wouldn't be a 80min player today!
Glenn Lazarus was unlucky to miss the Rugby League Team of the Century. Best prop forward I've ever seen, a reasonable degree ahead of Webke, Petro, Harragon, Roach and Roberts.

Player fitness levels are more important than anything, and if you aint up for 30mins + per game you shouldnt be anywhere near a first grade team
Pele regularly trains with the NRL team, he is part of the extended squad. You wont be seeing him in 1st grade anytime soon
