Until end of 2020
Evans was one of our better forwards in the back third of the season when he got healthy after the injury. He at least gave us a little creativity close to the line.
He has not been amazing but he's shown enough to suggest that he may continue to improve.
We want a player of his size to be doing more than just in the back third of a season, I admit to seeing him in two games after he returned from injury but only one of them I thought he measured up a bit better than previously. He needs to show in the front third next season that he is worth his contract.
At last someone who has actually watched the games Evans did play in the end of season. It also looked like he had been instructed to drive with the legs when carrying the ball rather than hitting the deck for a quick play the ball.
Prior to breaking his arm in one of the World Cup games, Kane Evans was one of the most impressive front rowers in the early WC rounds especially against Australia and I think England.
