  • To many now decent players might get axed and then could we keep the others cashed up.
    • From what i'm hearing tonga doesn't have too long left so he will fit right in. But you are right, i guess money might be an issue

  • not if smith uses the new rule to bring him back outside the cap!

  • Sign folau than we won't be able to afford Hayne when his of-contract next year
    • Hayne has discounts because he is a long serving player. Also Hayne wants to play with Izzy , Hoppa etc.

Hayne will be a one club player

  • Even if Smith uses that rule to sign Folau to an NRL contract I fear a signing of this magnitude will almost certainly see us missing out on Hayne next time round. Having said that I don't have a clue about our cap situation.
    • I couldn't see us signing someone that would put Hayne's future at Parramatta in jeopardy. He'll be 27 next year. If we can re-sign him for 3 years he'll be 30 by the time his contract expires and it would be a lot more difficult for him to leave given he'd only have around another 3-4 years in him.

  • We must use the Salary cap to our advantage, exactly how the Roosters & Bulldogs use it. Any rules that we can exploit we must do it & really built this team to take the premiership.
  • It's all about third party payments. Folau should be able to get massive sponsorship dollars with the Eels.

  • If we do manage to get Folau that means that we have absoutely no chance of getting anyone else. No Sims and no DCE (not that it was really likely to happen). After last weeks performance i am happy with our forwards, in fact i was pleased with everyone, but Folau replacing Tonga would be a great fit.

Hope we can get him, you know Roosters, Souths and Bulldogs will most likely go after him though.
