Flash in a (eels) pan

Michael Gordon has been a great NRL player for 10+ years and we didn't sign him for the player he was in his prime, but father time has finally caught up with him.

His goal kicking % is done for the first time in his career, and the need of a current day fullback to be a ball player is a string he unfortunately doesn't have to his bow.

If the rumours are true he is off to the Roosters, I say thank you for your professionalism Flash and your efforts in the blue and gold. You wore the jersey with pride in every game and I couldn't ask for more from a player we recruited.

  • Im with ya. Great bloke and a great role model to kids however i thought he was much better than he has shown this year. Kills every sweeping play and his goal kicking has been terrible.

If he goes for a player swap id be happy.
  • Thanks for everything flash, you were what we needed when we needed it
  • Does almost everything well and with energy but 2 areas letting him down in this team.
    His goal kicking
His passing on the sweep play.
But apart from those he's a professional and gives his all every game.
  • Well said, it is all to obvious he kills our attack, I wish him well if he has moved on.

  • Him and IDG were terrible, he tries hard but offers SFA in attack.  His kicking has also been poor, won't be missed at all.

    • Have you forgotten Hoppa Alan? Gordon will definitely be missed.

His best days are behind him but he's done well for us and was the maturity we needed at the time.

  • Tries hard and is very solid, but doesn't offer what we need at the moment. Need someone who can release Jenko & Semi down our left, and create something with Foz on the right. Goal-kicking has been VERY disappointing for mine. HE looks off-balanced at the point of impact, and he is pulling them left far too often

  • I posted elsewhere we would have not won without Gordon tonight. Saved a try in crucial part of game and scored when we needed it. I salute you Flash.
    • So did Bevan French
  • Yes agree here. He's professional and whole hearted and if we were killing it in other areas he would be a reliable option at the back. But our attack has faltered this year and unfortunately he has been a big part of it with our heavy reliance on second man plays. And I have seen him kick for the Panthers and the Sharks and there is obviously something wrong there, he's lost his technique

"I really liked that 2010 strip. We should have a combination of the 86 jersey and that 2010 jersey as either home or heritage."

"Love this one, I think we will use this design and the captains run short from this season to refresh our Home jersey for 2027. We will also have a new away too, hopefully Adidas have a look at us and produce something very special. "
