Haven't posted in many a year, but after reading an article by James Hooper claiming Brad Fittler has Moses as the front runner for the halfback spot I was gobsmacked!
I like all Parra fans am hoping to see Mitch develop into the Origin player we all want him to become, but surely his form doesn't warrant selection.
He has showed rare glimpse of form this year, but mentally he just doesn't seem on the right page at the moment. I really don't think Fittler has been watching him this year at all if he thinks he is ahead of Maloney for the number 7 jersey.
If he does get selected it will be great for his confidence and it will answer the questions as to whether it is the eels forward pack that is preventing Mitch from showing his true potential. For me Mitch is way too inconsistent and although I am more than happy to be proven wrong and will be cheering him on to perform at his best, I think Fittler is wrong here. I do however believe if he is selected it will be the best thing for getting his game back in the right direction it should be going
What is everyone elses thoughts here? Does anyone agree he should be selected ahead of Maloney?

Hooper is a bit hit and miss. Tends to quote a lot of unnamed sources without much to back it up. I'd be paying more attention to what Phil Gould and Danny Buderus are saying as they are two of Fittler's advisers.
Fittler does have a high opinion of Moses but I doubt he'd be play him this year.
I think we'll have a better idea of the halves after tonight given Cleary is back. He's rumoured to be Fittler's first choice so if he plays well then I doubt Moses would be in the frame for Game One.
Makes sense, I did hear a couple of weeks ago Jack Bird was in the mix aswell but told Freddy not to pick him because of his sternum injury. Also heard Birds not real happy at the Broncs and is homesick would he be worth Parra persuing? I know we need forwards but I think he would be handy if he's injury free and can cover anywhere from backrow to fullback.
I think it would be good to start Mitch playing Origin, he is going to at some point so why wait. NSW needs to put together a good young core group and keep them playing together. Look at QLD, they established and kept the same core for many years and dominated.
I hope Cleary doesn't do to Maloney what JT is doing to Morgan ATM. Maloney has killed it since Cleary got injured it's going to be interesting how they gel in the next couple of games.
Could NSW's long term halves be Moses and Cleary?
I think that's what Fittler's hinted at.
If he get pick for NSW will QLD will win again
Im backing Moses to get the nod. Moses is a winner and you can see he hurts more than most after an Eels loss.
I've watched him since he made his debut in the NSW blues juniors has always been a big talker who tries to inspire others.
I've bashed ba around a little - but not too much :) , but Moses is one of his best buys to date.
Moses will get the nod that will inspire him to greater things @ parra. He has the attitude Fittler is looking for.
Moses is a winner ?? You crack me up sometimes Chief. Moses would make a fool of himself in origin , obviously no one has seen how useless he is in the opposition 20 and how predictable he is .
