I am a long time (56 years) Eels fan. You can take the boy out of Parramatta BUT you can’t take Parramatta out of the boy. I have a good feeling about 2019 - it will be much better than 2018. We have some young lads that will fire. We were physically way off the mark most of this year.
it’s all or nothing for Brad Arthur - we might just see a little mongrel show itself- he wants to succeed and this is his last shot at it.
Go Brad! I’ve seen more did years than good ones and I’m backing BA to rev it up big time in 2019. Go the Eels!

Welcome Jim. It's certainly make or break for BA. Any career coach will have down years, the ones that last are the ones who learn from those years, fix the problems and bounce back. Trent Robinson being a pretty fine example of that!
Another positive post. Go the eels 2019. Can’t wait
Welcome Jim & I couldn’t agree more. I think we’re in for something special this year I really do, Going on last year you couldn’t help but feel deflated & thinking it’s going to be a tough year in 19. But I have a feeling BA & the boys will leave it all out on the field & it will surprise a lot of people & even most Parra fans who have been Laying in the boot for most of this year.
I also think (feel) 2019 will be a much better year. Probably make the 8! New stadium incentive as well and some new players combined with youth has to be a positive.
Onya Jim. There are a lot of doomsdayers on this site and the problem is a lot worse when we come off a bad year. I’m with you though I think we will have a much better year and make the finals.
Now this is serious folks, Partamatta are going to go great in 2019, please show some serious applause...
I will be happy if the Eels win at least 4 games in 2019 - the four during the finals playoffs.
Hi Jim, many of this prestigious Eels forum will have already boxed you in to the unicorn universe but I suspect you already went to Delphi to consult with the oracles and are on to something deemed true and magical by the Greek Gods.
My slant on 2019 is this: I reckon by the kick off of round one, our boys will be superfit than ever before and our 2019 success will come down to whether our boys collectively have the marbles, passion, discipline, focus and skillset to do better than the opposition for most of the 2019 season. Fitness won't be the issue and if our boys are on song, then we will go deep into the finals.
Howdy Jim - I hope the Eels make you a very hapy man in 2019 :)
But the form's not good - not a single semi final win this decade. we need a miracle - I hope it happens.
I'm with you Jim. On our old 1EyedEel platform, I went on record as saying "I was the first person on here who started saying we're gonna have a very much improved season next year" (only a week away now).
Now I'm saying it again on our brand new 1EyedEel platform :)
Here are a few reasons why I believe our team will turn the corner BIG TIME in terms of on-field success.
New stadium. I believe our new home ground packed with a sea of Blue & Gold supporters will lift our team's performance by 10%-15%
We've secured a few good signings to strengthen our weak spots where we struggled last season.
With Norman gone, we now have money to purchase 2 more good players or, sign 1 top quality player. Isn't it great to know we've got this money to possibly pick up a couple of bargain buys or that missing piece of our jigsaw between now and June 30? Especially knowing that several other clubs are in some salary cap trouble such as tigers, manly, and even the bunnies have had to resort to signing or re-signing a couple of reserve-graders in their quest to fill their top 30 roster because I think it's safe to say that their salary cap is pretty tight at the moment.
Despite the fact our team won't be playing at our new home ground, BANK WEST STADIUM (or is it West Bank?) until round 6, and thanks to the 2 or 3 other Sydney teams who will use our new stadium as their home ground as their home base until Alianz stadium in Moore Park is redeveloped, our beloved Eels will still play a whopping 14 out of 24 games at home plus one game at our home away from home in Darwin.
Tell me your confidence level didn't just go up after reading that :)
