I went and saw my first game of 2016 yesterday. I have been indisposed. Nothing like a win at home to cheer one up. Of course. I am claiming credit for the big score--I turn and they run in 36 points!. Cause and effect.
I had a good day all round. It started with two young girls, just teenager,,
singing the National Anthem, something that I normally deplore as it is usually
trashed unmercifully. But the girls did a really good job and received an excellent response from the fans.
Then my Lady From The Lake turned up and planted a kiss on my cheek! Not on my lips mind you. I don`t blame her at all, because these days I look like the Creature From The Black Lagoon.
I was quiet moved when the Eels held out the Raiders, who received what seemed like eight penalties on our line. The crowed in the Thornnett stand around me stood and applauded the players great effort. I abused that referee as he came off the field, calling him Greenberg`s Toad. It shocked some of my fellow Eels supporters!
A good win by the team, somewhat unexpected. Still too many errors.I think something will need to be done about Semi--maybe shifting him to the right wing? He will score tries given the right opportunity.May be time to look to the future. We will need a front row for sure. The fullback for next year needs to be sorted.

How the new ticker hold up?
It was around now you were going to give us the how Parra will perform this year isn't it? Are we going to make the 8?
TBUR: Sorry for late reply --unavoidable. New ticker is ticking OK but not tocking 100%--see the hear specials tomorrow. Thanks for your query.
I gave my appreciation on how the Eels may fare in 2016 at the completion of round three, as I had promised. It was full of ifs and buts and maybes. If they all came to pass my conclusion was we would make a play for the eight. Since then however, this salary cap farrago has dirtied the waters completely--no idea what will happen with that. Think the worst and get the best.
Davo "Kelly just go" : Yes, Gordon has come along and helped us this year. I agree he has been doing OK. Still may be getting used to the halves combination. As they get better Gordon might get the odd try or two. Its next year that needs thinking about---will Gordon turn out again or is this his last year? A bit early for an individual to make that decision but a club needs to be on the ball in such matters--where do we get a new full back?
Caroeel: You may be right. I am not too sure about 'scooby foo ' . Daphne I have heard of but thats it.
I turned up after having an el cheap $8 haircut! The hair dresser and his assistants were Greeks . None of them could speak English. I asked for a trim only-- hoping to play it safe. The barber took to me with alacrity. Hair flew fast and far furiously! It was a no trim. It was like a Geek goat being shorn on the slopes of Mount Olympus prior to sacrifice--probably his last job prior being let loose on me! I gathered my courage and looked in the mirror! He had given me one of those modern haircuts where they take off as much hair as they can leaving only a stubble on most of the scalp. I was fortunate that I had called a halt to proceedings after a minute and a half--at least some hair was left. My big ears stood out like two large pensioned off aircraft propellers--I must avoid the wind for a week or two.
So, you will appreciate I cannot demand anything including Daphe! At least the Eels had a win.
