I cannot believe all of these blogs about bring back Ice, Stefano and the like.  Yes, I would love them both back in the squad, but gees. Our forwards are far from the problem with achieving the ultimate winning squad. Wake up and smell the coffee. Injuries and suspensions killed us this year. Plain and simple fact.  RCG's suspension and injury destroyed us. He is without doubt our pack leader in my opinion, and has taken over Junior for his consistent efforts and impact.  He has been a standout for us for the past few seasons.  Junior, either needs a wake up call, or to be used differently. I suspect as age goes on and the game changes he can no longer sustain the brutality of 60 to 80 mins every game including reps. He still has a valuable  place in the squad but he cannot keep being run into the ground with stubborn coaching. We lost LANE for so many games through freakish and hopefully one time repeats of injuries.  It is just crazy.  We need him on the field and he was a massive loss.  Add to this the development of Greig, again interupted by injury, Doorey, again interupted by injury.  I can type endless paragraphs regarding what has potentially been our most impacted season as a result of injuries. I personally cannot remember a season so bad regarding injuries and suspensions.

Remove the suspensions and injuries, I stand by the fact that we have one of the most competitive and talented forward packs in the comp!  Yes, we cna challenge the way that they are coached to play, but our forwards are not the issue.

I stand by Gutho, he is the heart and soul of this squad.  I rate him better than any other, given our squad and his consistent  efforts.

We need another quality centre and another winger, until those, that the Club have developed are up to it.  Yep, will also add to another blog, unless the clueless management wake up to third party deals, utlised by other clubs, then we will never be in the race, despite good intentions.

But hey, the NRL is legit!

  • We actually do we need a centre also we have plenty of backs

    • Rubbish we have plenty.

Name the guys who are ready for regular FG in 2024.

  • Wingers

    Wendell sailor and Eric groth

  • WE NEED ATHLETIC FLYING WINGERS!!

  • We need some leg speed in the middle also. We have 4 offloaders in the tkp 10.

  • Settle down, my one in particular was if we get him what do we do with our squad.

  • Ditto.

We love forwards at the Eels, stuff the backs.

  • I'd be looking at the Manly centre that played fullback today, Koula. Manly will be under the pump to keep their mid-level talent because their salary cap is tied up in 3-4 players. He's got speed, can defend, and can fill in at fullback in case Gutho goes down.

Another player of the same vein would be Connor Tracey from the Sharks. Again, he can play both Centre and fullback in a pinch.

Our team need a bit of speed, I would love to see one of these two in the team. If we get one, it pushes Simonson to wing.

    • Yes and yes - like them both.

      • I'm not sold on Connor but I like Koula.
