Sorry Mary but I couldn't disagree more.
I have been watching League for 50 years as well as having coached in the Parramatta junior league as a senior club coach with Cabra Leagues so I think I have a pretty good idea of the rules and as far as I can tell the NRL are too busy making excuses for refs instead of fixing the constant issues. I understand refs can make a mistake on the run but a trainer stopping the game without even going onto the field is not a mistake on the run, That is the officials not understanding the rule. In that case it was not the first time the Panther trainer had done it as he was found to be doing it earlier in the season and it was done on multiple occations throughout the game. WTF.
The constant poor calls from the bunker combined with being inconsistant with when they decide to go back to an incident or not is not only driving the fans insane, It's having an impact on the outcome of games. Both fans and commontators are confused so is it just that we are all wrong. I saw the Will Smith tackle that led to the penalty goal that ultimatly won the game for Penrith in real time and could see that it wasn't high so exactly what did the ref see. He couldn't of seen the player hit high because it didn't happen as we all saw on the reply so why did he penalise it as a high tackle. If it turned out to be high the bunker could of informed the ref and acted on it. How could he see something that didn't happen, I don't understand.
The refs are not the scapegoats, The fans are. The refereeing in the Parra Penrith final was so bad that it dominated the news. Multiple experts, most being ex players went into great detail to show the multitude of poor calls throughout that game so I won't go into detail because it has well and trully been covered. It wasn't just the players season that ended that night, it was the Eels fans as well.
Yes it was one of the games of the season.
Yes I was so proud of the way the team played.
I usually watch every game until the end of the season but I won't this season because that one hurt so much that I can't stand even watching an NRL ad at the moment.
Don't worry NRL, I'll be buying my season ticketed membership again to watch you F**k us over again next year.

Normally I agree and ref bashing is silly and over the top.
However, Ashley Klein's mismanagement of the Eels game that cost us our entire season was so egregious that we needed to seriously discuss it and there needed to be serious consequences.
You can't cheat a team out of their season and not expect consequences.
Coach, I said previously I'll go fucking nuts if they dud us next year like they did last week. Who is Mary Constantinople anyway ? She's a weak parra supporter.
Tink's gone soft!!
Come on tinker bell we can't accept that standard especially when it ends our season wtf sister ???🤷♀️
I completely agree with what she has to say. In my opinion Penrith are a one gear team but we showed we had no extra gear either. It's what we have to find next year. Wasn't refs fault we had plenty of chances to find the try. We have to have more in our arsenal but I reckon we will next year. We are building nicely.
Disagree mate.
Klein was making calls for foul play all game until the final 20 minutes where he decided to put the whistle away.
This lead to a whole bunch of non calls when Parramatta were finally in possession and in the attacking red zone.
If Klein even made one or two calls we likely kick a penalty goal or score a try (or even both!).
He sabotaged the end of the game.
Mate I've watched a LOT of footy on my time on the Earth. To win the competition you have to be the best team. We aren't the best team but we aren't far off. We need to add another dimension to our attack. If we can, we will win it.
I think Souths win the comp because they have that clinical attack and extra gear. Struck match between us Panthers and Storm
Who was paying Mary for the article? The NRL, enough said. Klein didn't apply the rules consistently in the eels panthers game and also had a couple of howlers which were not to the benefit of the eels.
As far as I'm concerned it's a rubbish article that serves no purpose, other than trying to deflect criticism of the NRL and their mismanagement of the referees/bunker.
Having said that its time to move on.
A person doesn't need to be a rugby league expert to know that the Eels vs Panthers game was set up by blatantly disgraceful refereeing decisions and bunker stuff ups. It wasn't incompetence but blatant corrupted calls. The NRL should be held accountable for this but they'll no doubt get away with it because of money. It only needs a strong brave rich knowledgeable person that is willing to stand up and speak out to get things to change. Unfortunately there are too many gutless, weak kneed individuals who couldn't care less because they're making a nice little retirement package.
