"Some players need to get sacked from a club and risk losing it all before they really knuckle down and put in the work. Why did he get sacked, was it lack of discipline for footy and training or off field issues?"

Hop would have been about 20m behind him...
Goodall only needs to lift his work rate slightly, but is already good enough for the NRL.
Its a real pity. Hoppa has a great footy brain, nice hands and willingness to work but if you want to be a top flight back you need some speed or size.
They were heavily favouring to go to the left side too. Imagine the damage Goodall could have caused on the left with Marika?
He was fast enough to get the intercept and run 60 metres down the field to score.
From what I've heard the coaching staff want Fabian to work on his agility and feet before the line, they think he relies on his strength too much when going into contact. Best way to do that would be to drop a few kgs.
If Fabian really was the slowest at the club in the game against the Warriors earlier this year he wouldn't have made it from the other side of the field to catch Api Pewhairangi a metre before the line whilst the outside backs on that side gave up chase because they weren't catching him.
