Extremely Frustrating!

I only just got to finish watching the game - I couldn't watch it live tonight.

The beauty of recording it and watching it later is you can fast forward through the shit - and I did a lot of that tonight before finally checking the score with 20 minutes to go. Obviously, we all know the result.

That was unacceptable.

Penrith are a rabble - and through a lack of application, a lack of respect for posession, a lack of applying pressure through repeat sets - we let this piece of garbage of a team beat us at our supposed 'fortress'.

Now, I'm not going to ramble on about BA our Gutho or Moses or Alvaro or whatever the rest of you imbeciles like to do after a loss - but I will say that since the Knights match, it has become clear to me that opposition coaches are instructing their teams to race up on our first receiver because we're not throwing cut-outs from the ruck. Also, we don't wrestle whereas pretty much every other team does. I like that we don't because - in my view, Craig Bellamy and his horrendous footy team have pretty much destroyed rugby league for the last decade and that's why I tend to watch way more AFL these days because I actually want to watch some footy.

But, by being denied quick play the balls, a fast moving defensive line will kill us every time! This isn't Moses' fault, but we should start revisiting the model that Daniel Anderson had us playing under in 2009 where our forwards would hit, spin and offload because right now, we're horribly predictable and it just makes it hard to break a modern day NRL defensive line (even one as shit-house as the Panthers') unless you have forward momentum.

We had it once in the first minute and scored a try. And that was the only time. Bernie Gurr and Brad Arthur do not drop footballs, miss tackles and lack application on game day so it's just silly to keep blaming them. But, the coach is responsible for identifying how other teams are shutting us down and formulating new plans to counter it!

This club - our club - owes it to we fans and the game of rugby league at large to be a competitive conveyance every single year! We have the biggest fan base in Sydney, a wonderful nursery of talent and excellent facilities. The game would die without the Parramatta Eels but, right now, our participation benefits other clubs more than ours and our fans.

Not good enough!

I haven't bothered to look at the draw but, whoever we're playing next week, a loss is a non-option.

  • So if you noticed it why has BA not, or if he has change tactics stand deeper, throw the cut out, drop quicker in tackles stops the wrestle.

You win the ruck and the wrestle when your pack fight hard, run hard and put the opposition on the back foot.We are to slow to get to our feet and the ball takes to long to clear the ruck.

Parramattas problems are we do not haves good pigs to do the yardage, our mtrs gained is the worst in the game, our middle is soft, and our pack as a unit lay down way to easey.

As you stated the wrestle has been around for a long time, other teams have adapted, parra haven't because the headcoach dosen,t see it as a problem.

Brad Arthur the coaching staff and the team take the wrap for our last 3 performances, tonites game was probably the worst game bar the Storm i have seen in a long time. Now if Brad carn,t get this team to play with at least pride then it's time for him to go. And quite a few players.

    • Yeah, I see that. I'm not happy about it and I would have thought it would be addressed by now.

But, I'm not calling for the sacking of the head coach. He's just been reappointed and for all our sakes and weekend sanity, I hope he, along with the assistant coaching staff (because they're responsible too) can initiate a change of tack so that we win games again.

Let's not forget, this team was widely picked to take out another spoon and we're reasonably well placed mid - season.

Only the most hopeless optimist thinks we're a realistic title winner this year but rubbish efforts like tonight's are no excuse to not push as hard as possible to make it as far as we can this season.

If we're around and about towards the back end of the season and in the 8 we have a chance. That's what the playing, coaching and administration staff must identify as a mandatory achievement.

  • im surprised you got to watch anything from the 8th to 80th minute. 2nd rate, non nrl standard performance

    • BM the way we played tonite i think were a real chance of winning that spoon.

      • If we win no further games up until the bye then we will be on 12 points.  Gold Coast are last at the moment so they will need to win 4 games just to overtake us.  Can you see Gold Coast winning 4 games?.

I think it's just as well we started off the season ok because otherwise we would of been down there.

        • Just checked the draw ya right Titans have a harder run home than us. I ca see us winning 2 maybe 3, but would need to improve to win those couple of games, think we will lose the next 4.

          • I streamed the game on the radio last night, they reckon Gold Coast won't win a game for the rest of the season.  But then again they all predicted Parramatta to win comfortably last night and one of them said Moses would score 16 individual points.

  • Very frastrating like 2018 when we sighned j.hayne team went on holidays early expecting him to make it happen and its happened again as soon as we resighn gutho for overs team starts to get annoyed with player treatment from coach at least hayne had tallent but gutho and ba aint the answer we needed to let em both go  and mosses  needs to go a lot of our problems revolove around him he aint a team player he a big sook.if ba last the next 2 years we are in strife and i cant see us winning a game again this year after what has happened in the last month not onfield but the resighning of the coach because of gutho threating to leave if he aint coach

  • We haver Souths, granted a Souths team lacking Origin players such as Cook, Gagai, maybe Murray, Reynolds and Keary, but they're going to have a strong as hell team.

    • Kerry plays for Rooseters Super
