Exporting the Rorting!

With hindsight it was interesting to read how just over a year ago it was being reported that Speward was been touted for a potential move to Melbourne Storm.

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/parramatta-eels/melbourne-storm-sound-out-parramatta-eels-boss-scott-seward-about-chief-executive-role-20150525-gh97b2.html

So, we had a merchandising investigation while he was at Bulldogs as merchandising manager. The same at the Eels, the CEO of the NRL acting as his referee and an admission below:

Seward, the former chief executive officer of the Eels, and Irvine, the former football manager, have admitted to the NRL that players were paid in cash, which was removed from the takings of club's merchandise sales.

"You know cash is king," Irvine told investigators of removing funds from merchandise sales before the proceeds were banked".

How far into how many clubs does the merchandising rort / fraud go?

There is one serious problem with all of this that we should demand transparency on. What has the role of security been at all these clubs? I  posted a couple of months back that it is very easy to skim on merchandising....... but it requires trusted individuals to be a party to it. Seward hired his family at the Bulldogs. This also includes the contracted security that manages the venues. Providing protection and advisory to ensure that cash is safely transported and secured is a core accountability of security. Unless the management directs otherwise. At concerts for example part of the security role is to prevent merchandise skimming through cash control.

To export a merchandising rort system to multiple clubs at multiple venues is made much easier if the same security is being utilised. I wonder if Rhodium will dive into the fact that E Group security  is one of the companies also implicated in the TPA and inflated invoices claims. They might even join the dots between the fact that the NRL are their client...... along with multiple clubs. I wonder if they worked with TG during his time at Bulldogs?

I bet the word Rhodium conjures up the effects of Immodium when  Greenterd hears the word!

Has any one heard anymore on E Group and its TPA or invoicing claims? Have heard Zibara...... but not much on E Group.

  • Yoda, you are a one man Four Corners! More power to you. Keep digging. Hold fast BA as we may get some points back yet. One way or the other both Parramatta and the NRL are about to be cleaned up once and for all.

  • The other avenue that needs to be explored Yoda are the suppliers of the merchandise. Are the same suppliers involved?

  • Yoda, Yoda, Yoda.

  • What ever happened to the media article about the guy from East revealing the Brown Paper Bag culture throughout the entire NRL?

    • he was last seen being given a brown paper bag.....
    • You mean the court sworn testimony of SKD's gf Jessica Peris where she mentions gift cards and brown paper bags?
Ms Peris said her boyfriend later apologised for "flipping" and gave her a $700 gift card, a club prize given to him by the Roosters, "because he felt bad".
• No Yobz - the guy was supposed to be formerly associated with the Rorters and did an expose interview with one of the intrepid journos, spilling the beans on the Brown Paper Bag culture utilised by almost every club with financial backers.

    • That was the Kate McClymont article from memory. How bout the article talking about Seward taking the merchandising cash home after games and hiding it under the bed? Remember that one? Jigsaw is starting to make sense Yoda....
