There has been a lot of doom and gloom kind of chat on here after last night’s match but let’s try to put our season thus far into perspective. Think back before the season started. If you were asked where do u expect the eels to be after 12 rounds in 2014 what would your answer be? If asked what kind of footy the eels would be playing this year what would your answer be to that one? We are exceeding expectation so far this year, even after last night’s loss, so let’s all calm down and take it week by week and enjoy the ride without predictions of future doom to come. After every bad loss this year we have bounced back the week after and i expect no less next week.

LOL appologies won't do it again.
I think the thing people are getting upset with is that we know how much potential our teams has.
They were close to being the best team in our win over the Roosters both in attack and defence. I think we completed all but 2 sets in that game.
Following that we have been pretty inconsistent and my biggest gripe has been dropped ball. There are a couple of repeat offenders (Pauli Pauli). If we could just scrape some butter off the fingers we will be well on our way to making the finals.
All in all a good start to the season. Especially when comparing to where we might have been if we still had pricky as coach.
My only disappointment and probably most other fans is our ability to run red hot in spells and then capitulate in between.
We have the talent but are mentally fragile.
Agreed B & G, mental toughness seems lacking, especially for away games.
It's like we have a checklist to win:-
#1- Are we at home? Yes, Sweet!
#2- Is Jarryd playing? Yes - Sweet!
IMO, if we can't tick one of those boxes, we don't seem up for it!
I think opposing teams have the same checklist but in reverse. LOL.
Have we improved? - Definitely. But TBH we could have been top 8 or thereabouts in '12 and '13. We certainly didn't have the worst roster in the NRL. We had shite coaches admittedly.
One thing that sticks in the back of my mind was DA's rumoured comments after he was let go after '09 about certain players' attitudes. The Warriors have had the same problem for years.
I think we tried to go too wide too early. We just needed a 10 minute period where we just went through the middle and settled down. Brad Arthur said as much. They were trying too much early on when simple footy was all that was required?
