  Thanks for the advice Robert. I'm guilty as charged. Can't help it because, as a fan, I always get excited when the season gets near. The difference this year is that I have more of an expectation of a better year. No wild predictions, but I am looking forward to the year. #Parra2K16

    sixtiesboy: I detect a welcome change in your approach but I won't wear the excitement bit. I distinguish between excitement and expectation.

    Let me tell you what my expectations are. I expect my team to win the competition. We are in the competition for one reason and one reason alone: to win the competition . To not win the competition we fail. We fail if we come second, just as we fail if we come last. There are no second prizes. We win or we fail. We have not won in thirty odd years--we have failed in all those years. Some hope, some excitement? 

    I expect the NRL to move against Parramatta if we don`t win the competition.If not this year then soon. May shut us down or move us to Perth. May force amalgamation with another failing club or privatisation. How long can they wait?  Hence, the importance  of the expectation of winning. Hope and excitement have failed. A realistic philosophy of the expectation of a winning attitude must achieve more.

  Tell me about it' lol. I'm with 60s. I get excited with the team however this our best squad in nearly a decade and In excited. Not just "we're all even at this point and you never know" excited but for the first time in a long time "our squad is good enough to give it a shake and at finals" excited lol

  Just because a few have asked about top 4 chances etc, don't think we're all that way way Robert.
  
  I'm expect final given the new recruits and the players we've lost. From them on I'm hoping for a good finals showing and not a one final and back to outside the top 8 but consistency.
  
  Thanks for being the voice of reason but I've been around long enough to know the different between blind support and reality.

  I'm a realist because we've all been optimistic throughout the seasons,whether it be when we got piggy riddell,or chris Sandow or Gareth Hock ,but this year we have recruited so well right across the park leaving us with no weak links,when added to an already quite competitive side who has had a shocking run of bad luck bad injuries and bad refs calls,yes I'm excited,just to be competitive and make the finals for the first time in years,I think every Parra fan should be,and if you're not it might be time to jump ship,we should all get behind this team and the coaching staff and whoever it is that is responsible for putting this team together because for the first time in years I think even the most realistic of fans has to admit that this team at least on paper looks f*#king AWESOME!
