This time last November, 90% on here were excited about next year--2016. Well, here we are and no one is excited this morning! Where is all the passion gone? Who is our future and our saviour now? Who loves the Eels now? Who makes other players look good? Gush, gush gush.
Yesterdays defeat was bad in the sense that we could have gone up the ladder if we had won, as we needed to, if we are to lose points. A defeat at home is a blow at any time. Other than that though, there is no reason to slash ones wrists over that result.
Now is the time to stand firm--to keep your head whilst all around you are losing theirs. Get behind the players. They don`t try and play bad--they try to do their best.
Above all, take this opportunity to throw out the excitement with the bath water and adopt a realist approach to all things.
You have my permission, that when we kick- off the ball in 2016 Grand Final, you may be be excited! Till then noses to the grind stone.

So what you are saying is dont be excited by wins and dont be upset by defeats, be realistic?
I thought being excited by wins and upset by defeats WAS realistic. Am i missing something here?
Im still behind the team and players but I was disappointed by the way we lost ie not enough points to allow for the hail Mary at the end of the game.
But Im still excited that we are better than previous years.
I think you've just nailed the definition of realism TBUR.
lol, so I just paid close to 400 bucks for a season ticket and i'm not allowed to get excited when the team wins and dejected if they loose? I can't enjoy the emotional roller coaster that is Rugby league and sport in general?
Should we sit in the stands silently like a bunch of monks, then leave the ground in silence and maintain a level of calmness at all times? BOOOOOOORING!!!!!
Cheer the wins, scream and roar when an Eel breaks clear and sets sail for the line, boot him home. Cheer crunching hits and last ditch defense. Boo the opposition at every opportunity, bay for penalties whether they are warranted or not. Chant the good chant!!!!!
Go home and watch replays of a great win over and over!!!
It's called living the dream Robbie - if you don't experience life it simply passes you by mate :)
It's not the end of the season. 4 wins in a row would have been great but the boys couldn't hold on.
It's only footy. There's always next week.
I feel sorry for you Slip...
