A very good recruitment drive by the Eels for 2016, IMO every player that has signed with the club is an improvement on the player they have replaced.C. Sandow - K. Foran ( Would make him Captain )D. Lussick - B. ScottW. Hopoate - M. GordonB. Champion - C. GuthersonR. Matterson - M. CornishZ Docker-Clay -C. KingR. Fa'aoso - D. ÁlvaroA. Quinlan - K. MossL. Crooks - S. SchulteR. Robinson - N. Davis ( Reece making way for a junior )J. Aloiai - J. Hasson ( Was sorry to hear he was moving on, shows the depth we have )T. Kamicamica - K. Tanginoa ( Hope Kelepi can reach his potential, returning to Parra could kick start him )F. Goodall - B. FrenchNewbigging - R. O'BrienFrom reports on this site there could still be a couple more signings to come, maybe a GUN Centre, that would be the icing on the cake.2016 can't come quick enough, this is the best squad the Eels have assembled in a very long time. Well done to BA and DA.

  • Don't know much about Aloiai but from what I heard was a good player with potential. Maybe 60s or 40/20 can elaborate.

    • Would have loved to to see Aloiai stick around but amongst some other stuff the Tigers (where he is presumed to have departed to) will offer him a much easier path to first grade as their pack barring Woods and Taupau is very poor.

Quality young player with a great engine but also quite prone to injuries. With a good run of fitness he will probably become a handy first grader but we are loaded in the backrow and were always going to feel the pinch there at some point.

  • I heard n Davis has gone to the Titians
    • who davis what he like titans trying build there team for the future

    • I hope that's not true, he would have more of a chance breaking into FG at the Eels than the Titans, considering that we only have one recognised centre at the moment.
    • We will know with pre- season training which should start next week
    • Mate Davis isn't much special
  • Great blog. This is what people need to look at and realise. Although most are not marquee players, as long as the roster continually improves each year, it will come to a point where it can challenge for a title. BA made some improvements from 2014 to 2015, but with our cap issues now sorted, we can see how much better the recruitment has been. I'm sure we will continue to look for better players for 2017 and our 1 year deals mean plenty of players are off contract at the end of 2016 and can be moved on (Seffa) or kept if they have a big year (Gordon, Tanginoa, Cornish, King, Hasson, Schulte, etc).
    • Yeah I am liking the one year deals as well King, prove yourself worthy of another contract or move on. Finally we have people in charge who know what they are doing.
    • BA still has to sort out the defence, we are still very poor in that area. Even though visually we looked better in D we still leaked as many points as last year and the 4th worse in the comp. Can't challenge for anything with those stats.
