If anyone is watching the U19 nsw game I think they will see Sanders will be ready for the nrl soon. His kicking game would put some current nrl halves to shame. I would be putting him straight into nsw cup this week.

yeah his very classy. Not sure where but we need to find a spot for him in 1st grade. Might be by moving brown to fullback
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's skinny, still very raw. He's not playing NRL footy anytime soon.
A few years in reserve grade would ruin most players with aspirations of a high level NRL Player.
Handling juniors is almost an art, surprisingly BA did a great job with Mahoney and Brown by bringing them straight through without much or any time in Reserve Grade. Obviously that only fits when there is room to do so and that is the dilemma in this case. Once apon a time unless you have a developmental and very good reserve grade, it is a waste of time playing good young players with "egg nogs".
Sanders should stay in his age group or alternatively make the reserve grade side a 75% development programme with a sprinkling of more seasoned Reserve Graders .....(penrith essentially follow this pattern) the current situation with Rankin was fine but has gone too far, he is not up to playing first grade now but in the very early days when blooding JA he was, subsequently we had the JA disaster, always remember that JA was never an elite junior who needed or required special attention, just accept that BA fucked that one up in more ways than one, shit happens and we have moved on from that.
If Sanders is good as some people say he will be offered big bucks very quickly from a club where there is a need. Whether his advice is good enough to go to a club that will foster his protection to reach his goals is subjective, We have all seen how difficult it is to keep halves without the Wiz's of the world going into apolexy for paying so much, it needs to be a balanced decision.
Lets look at Hopgood as a classic example, the kid has gone from being a reserve grader to a near origin player in half a season with Parra. He is an outstanding player and could become a Parra great if looked after, definately the best young forward since Hindmarsh.
You can imagine how Penrith must feel in losing him......the answers are the modern game and its problems with salary caps and third party deals.....if I was an executive in Parra's board room I would have a team of financial planners try to come up with the best possible career moves within the limitations of what the system offers. There is always grey areas that can be taken advantage of if you are smart enough to risk manage such a process.
100% correct about Junior development, it is an art form. Some players have to do it the hard way and keep knocking down the door. Hopgood is probably a good example of this, and when they finally get their shot they grab it with both hands. Some juniors talents are just special and sometimes you just got to give them a shot. Penisini was only 19 when he debuted I believe. The 2nd year syndrome is always a trap for youngsters when it comes too easily for them. I think Suali is going through that now. Some youngster never recover
Be ready next season
Yeah, I don't see it, not unless we have a similar scenario to this season.
I just mean his game will be ready. Parra aren't dropping Moses or brown for him. Maybe he gets a bench spot if we can find a 80 min hooker
Agreed, if he's good enough he should be in the 17 irrespective of our current halves being signed long term Parra needs to wrap him up.
I do not get this Brown to Fullback claim, he has never played the position and now want to move him, the learning curve sets you back a year or two. Sanders might need to beef up and make his way to Hooker. Or if Brown is to move from 6 he can play Hooker.
It takes most halves five plus years of first grade to become a premier half. Even Nathan Cleary didn't do much the first four years. Don't move Brown out of position or he'll execute one of his fifty break contract clauses
