Media Announcement from the Eels:
The Pirtek Parramatta Eels today announced Hall of Fame member Eric Grothe Snr was last night selected to fill the vacancy on the Club’s Board of Directors.
Grothe joins the Parramatta NRL Board after having served as a Director of the Parramatta District Rugby League (PDRL) since December 2008.
Chairman of the Pirtek Parramatta Eels, Mr Roy Spagnolo OAM, said:
“We’re pleased to have Eric fill the post vacated by Glenn Duncan earlier this year.
“There were a number of very good candidates that were presented to the Board.
“But when it comes to experience there’s not many people that know this Club better than Eric Grothe.
“His ability to offer a football perspective and representation in that area was an important factor in his selection.”

"His ability to offer a football perspective"............... means he knows nothing about running a multimillion dollar corporation and will do as he is told
Didn't think it needed spelling out really
This is just great Eric is a long time friend of mine , i wish him all the best, and he will put every thing into it,Eric wont let any body down, he is Parra through and through.
Thats very nice Joseph, perhaps as a friend of his you can enlighten us as to his credentials for being a board member (apart from 'parra through and through')

Grothe Snr was actually a pretty successful marketing rep in recent years
Probably Pricey mack.....
That is not up to me to discus Erics credentials i am sure the board would have done a thorough investigation before appointing him. On the 12th of December the AGM will be held and i am sure in question time he will be asked the same questions,if you can make ask him.
