"I'm not claiming to have all of the answers to the Parramatta Eels' problems. I'm not smart enough. I'm not claiming to be a Parramatta Eels legend by any stretch of the margin. I played at the Eels for 9 seasons and missed many games due to injury. My passion levels were a roller coaster at times & I was never 'Mr. Professional.' When I was on the field, I ran the ball as hard as I could and the best years of my life thus far have been whilst wearing the Eels jersey.
I used to look at blokes like Nathan Cayless in awe of how hard he trained and played every single day and week of every single season. That's a Parramatta Eels legend in my eyes.
All I'm asking is, how the hell can the current 5 senior officials in question sleep at night whilst their club can't win any points unless they stand down? If they stand down, and the money over the cap is sorted, then the Eels are able to play for points. So here's an idea fellas...
STAND THE FUCK DOWN!
Stand down first, THEN take your personal matters to court. Don't stand still WHILE you take your personal matters to court. There's bloody points on the line.
I also question why it is that the only issue you went to court about was losing your own jobs/titles? Why didn't you contest the competition points, the fine, and the Auckland 9's trophy if the NRL have it all wrong? This is basically saying "OK, we're guilty so we won't argue those particular issues, but there's a technicality that may see us hold onto our jobs/titles." From where I sit, that's pure unadulterated ego. It's putting yourselves before the good of the club on a mammoth scale. It's putting yourselves before a group of blokes who've worked their arses off all pre season and on the field in order to win games. It's amazing that the human ego can completely override a simple logical solution like this.
I'm pretty bloody sure I speak on behalf of every Parramatta Eels fan, player, staff member, former player, and for NRL fans in general when I say...
STAND THE FUCK DOWN.
Sorry about the swearing. I was born a Westie."

While we all know Eric's got personal agendas, he's 100% right in this instance. Unforgivable if the board cost us the opportunity to play for points in an attempt to selfishly preserve their own standings in the club.
For the sake of the club and the team so they can accrue points I implore the gang of five to stand down.
lol
Roger you are very correct in what you are saying, the way the NRL has made their call to deregister the 5 had no notice saying if they stood down the NRL would knock off so many or any of the points deduction.
Sharp is reported to have said at the AGM that he would stand down if it meant points would not be deducted. Had the NRL said they would reduce the points penalty Sharp would have had no choice, likely or maybe others would have done likewise.
I believe the NRL made the call as they did in order that none of the board would step aside & therefore the drama would continue past next weeks Rabbits game & saying the eels had not acted fast enough to reduce the cap etc, meaning for every week delay is more points lost, as we could not start earning points again until their conditions are met.
Deliberate without a doubt. I also agree with about glass houses of dual size capacity. Remember Snr well with his black suit at the 2009 elections, handing out voting tickets.
You are spot on Roger, as long as they are gone by Friday let them at least look at the NRL findings and evidence so the club can either mount a case against or take the punishment depending on the findings.
